The receptionist we had upon checking in was friendly, helpful and very accommodating when I had a sick child.
The family room is quite spacious. Great location. The only downside is the lack of parking available on site.

Great location a short walk or drive from the main chairlifts, so it was nice not to have to trek back to Jindabyne at the end of each skiing day. Friendly staff. Loved that John was able to pick us up with our ski gear at the end of each day.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Thredbo this weekend is $439 or, for a 4-star hotel, $480. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Thredbo for this weekend cost around $1,027 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

Lovely to attend the Blues festival for my annual visit (not a snow lover) and enjoy the Village in summer. Enjoyed the Gondola for my first time and loved the ride, and that there is a venue at the top to eat or drink or listen to music.. If planning to eat out do take plentyof $$$ss as no cheaper options ecept the bakery and cafe on the Village square..

Thredbo is a great base for physical adventures.
Thredbo is a great base for physical adventures. However, it's very expensive. It stuns me that a golf course takes up so much of the small amount of space available, which limits accommodation and keeps prices high. Who goes to Thredbo to play golf?!

Closest ski field from Canberra. Easy to drive to.
Closest ski field from Canberra. Easy to drive to. Great for children. Snow was not great this season unfortunately, lift pass at $200/day is a bit pricey, lessons for adults were also high - used to be much cheaper pre-covid for lift and lesson. Ski school instructors, most were pretty good with kids - pleased with that.

Skiing in Australia will also be a bit of a risk.
Skiing in Australia will also be a bit of a risk. Massively expensive for potentially poor snow coverage.
Thredbo had such limited accessibility on one of our days everyone getting down the run then had to take off their ski/snowboard to hike through mud to the only available chairlift from main hub. Enormous queue. Saw people arrive and just turn around. There are limited options to get out of front valley when the wind shuts down the the chairlifts. This was end of July - peak season.
I recommend Perisher over Thredbo in terms of reliable access to snow.

Thredbo is easy to get too, and the drive there from either direction (especially from Khancoban) is Fantastic. There is a lot of chair rides, and a Gondala ride, if you want to just go for sight seeing, and the Board Walk on the top of the mountain is a "must-do" in the out of season times.
Thredbo is probably one of the best locations for mountain bike riding.

The room was lovely. Spotless.
The room was lovely. Spotless. Heated flooring and towel rails. Large bathroom with plenty bench space. Lovely breakfast in shared dining room. Beautiful views from picturesque windows. Hosts were wonderful. The only problem is the access. To the chalet. Going down 52 odd steps. Is fine if you have no health issues or knee problems. And we were fortunate to have only a small bag. This is the only issue I have with pure Thredbo. But it’s important to let others know. I have friends who would not have been able to stay had they have known of the steps
Otherwise. Perfect
We were already in Thredbo when the Sydney lockdown happened. We were told to return to Sydney and cancel accommodation, ski lift and rental. The staff in Aneeki lodge were very helpful in providing guidance. When I asked for refund the staff were the most friendly and helpful despite the fact that I gave them the wrong credit card number and they had to do the work twice. Thank you Jenny and Steve and anyone who answered our many calls.
I’ve always wanted to stay at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel and wasn’t disappointed, other than the lack of spring skiing. It’s a classic hotel, love the original retro vibe of timber walls. It’s been updated but hasn’t lost its charm. The room looked out on the courtyard with just enough of a view of the mountain and prime position to watch and listen to Sneaky Sound System from our window.
It’s a lovely place to stay. We went during peak winters and booked two rooms with views. Our room had stunning snowy mountain views. Absolutely amazing. I am definitely visiting again. Very friendly staff, provided us with all the necessary information about staying and visiting the Thredbo village and getting out and about. The picture uploaded doesn’t do justice to the views.
The managers are just the loveliest couple, such a perfect fit as people for the village of Thredbo. Their service and friendliness was as good as you get anywhere. When I asked to have my shower curtain washed, and it was not problem at all.
The views were great, continental breakfast was very nice, the lounge area and deck were good. Just positive relaxed vibes all around.
Our unit was simply furnished, decor a little dated (1980s perhaps) but reminded me of my first trips to Thredbo as a teenager so quite nostalgic! Stunning views over the valley to the ski slopes, our unit had a separate bedroom, great little kitchen with all the basics. friendly staff. Great value out of ski season, centrally located just a 5 minute walk down to town centre
The location was nice and quiet and out of the village but only a short walk. The ski shuttle was directly opposite which was great. The living and dining area was spacious enough for us the have friends for dinner. The sauna/drying room was very handy and the entrance area was great for leaving all your skis.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I ask about where to go in Thredbo, he was very helpful, smiling and knowledgeable. We extended a bit because I went for a chairlift, but the hotel didn't ask me extra. I will definitely stay again with them in the future. Buffet breakfast was excellent!
Went in summer and it was the great place to stay, must be great in the ski season due to its proximity to the lifts and restaurants. Fantastic staff and a terrific Mexican restaurant. Good room with comfortable bed and good bathroom. Would definitely stay again.
The room was cosy with a comfortable bed. The heater was definitely needed as the room was quite chilly through the night, despite it being summer. The hotel's proximity to the ski field and to most restaurants was a big plus.
On arrival such a warm welcome from staff. apartment was beautifully finished and extremely clean. location was awesome surrounding lovely bars and restaurants and only a few mins walk from ski lifts.
Our apartment was great. Very clean, tidy, and very comfortable. Fantastic views over Thredbo village and the mountain bike park. We got plenty of exercise walking the steps down to the village.
Location is good. The reception staff member was very friendly & helpful however no further customer service/acknowledgement by any other staff member over remainder of stay
Great location and great views. An attractive and comfortable apartment with wonderful lounge furniture to relax a the end of the day. The beds were comfortable.
Lovely food and atmosphere in the restaurant. Lovely people to serve and very friendly chef 👍 loved the dinner we had as a family. Evening was just perfect.
