1-2 days maximum is more than enough.
1-2 days maximum is more than enough. Food their is great and beautiful coffee, but do keep in mind everything is expensive as it is a tourist spot. Otherwise great location to visit. I visited Huka falls and Wairakei terrace hot pools which was an amazing experience.

The local buses need to run later into the nighttime.
The local buses need to run later into the nighttime. Restaurant and Fast Food place sort of central in about 4 blocks. Huka Falls Jet and Rapid Jet need to consider a shuttle service from downtown Taupo because it is dare for a Uber ride and even darer for a Taxi. My favourite place to eat was Portofino Taupo, their service was exceptional.CameronNew Zealand

I would highly recommend to book your stay here. Lisa the host was wonderful, she made the converstation happen as if this was not the first time we met her . She is a beautiful kiwi lady. Place has got spectacular views and the way it is designed is so great, accomodates all you need. I wish i was there was few more days to enjoy the stay. Definetly highly recommend this vista on top of any motels or hotels you book.

We chose to stay there as friends had their dog and the motel has some pet friendly rooms. We enjoyed the ability to step out straight onto the lakefront walkway and the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club was very handy to the motel and became a go to for pizza and refreshments. It had a kitchen so you could cook if you wanted - this included a microwave and a half size fridge. Unit 6 is on the upper level with a set of outside stairs on either end of the complex. Parking was outside the room and free. Had a distant view of Lake Taupo from the lounge. Room was quiet and a cheaper price than most. Close to town - could walk but we drove.
