Fairlie Holiday Park, hotel in Fairlie

Featuring garden views, Fairlie Holiday Park in Fairlie features accommodations and a shared lounge.

It was clean, well equipped and we even accidentally ended up having an extra bed in the lounge which was nice because it meant we had two rooms for three people rather than all in one. The staff was super friendly and the location was 30min from lake Tekapo.

Fairlie hasnt got buried by tourists yet- it is real and the locals are busy farm folk. There are a couple of good eating places (our favourite is the Library restaurant-changed hands but food still excellent). The supermarket is well stocked. We have done some of the walks with our kids before - the new bike tracks sound interesting-must try them out next time. The information place is a gem with a couple of bubbly ladies with helpful ideas.

Lovely little town away from tourist spots and really good value. Couple of pubs to eat at and a chinese and bakery and supermarket. We used it as a place to have a quiet day before going to Christchurch. Turned out much better than expected and after some rain it was beautiful to see all the snow covered mountains around the town.

Fairlie is a very small village with the main attractions being the alpaca farm (nice for families) and the local pie bakery, which has been hyped in social media. We found the pies being not above average, we had better ones in most places. The best thing about Fairlie was the Fairlie Holiday Park and its comfy rooms.

Fairlie is a cute town that is close to many other places such as Lake Tekapo and Timaru. It has a number of good shops and nice restaurants. When my partner and I came to stay we went to a restaurant called Carnegies and it does quite tasty pizzas. Fairlie Bakehouse is also a good place to stop by but be careful going at lunch time as it was extremely busy when we went at 12pm. We enjoyed reading the little info stands telling you about the history of Fairlie. There's also a place you can stay at (Rollesby accommodation) that has hot tubs, so lovely. Overall, would visit Fairlie again!

My mum and I had an amazing stay - it completely exceeded our expectations - we were arriving late and Erin prepared the apartment for us beautifully and even put the electric fireplace heater on - it was so cosy in there! We wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Beautiful location, great value for money, there’s everything you might need. Thank you Erin!

It is a nice little town with its own character. Travelled here from Lake Tekapo before leaving for Christchurch the next day so did not have much time to explore. The Mackenzie Motels were exceptional and the Fairlie Bakehouse was really lovely too. Really enjoyed my short stay here.

Based on the photographs provided our expectations were low. In th event they were far exceeded, because the motel is new, well-finished, very well equipped and sparkling clean For example, the quality of bed linen and mattress was far above what one might expect at this price point. One has to be realistic: Fairlie is a tiny town a long way from anywhere in the high MacKenzie country. Finding something as good in those circumstances was a real bonus, thank you and well done.

We have stayed at Gladstone before For an old historical hotel it is pretty good.Linen is always fresh & clean. Towels are soft & plentiful. The rooms all have their own basins, which is handy. the breakfast is a standard cereal, tinned fruit tea, coffee and toast arrangement , fine to start the day.Always a quiet stay& meals in the bar are great. An added bonus is that the famous Fairlie Pie shop is just up the road if you want a good coffee & doughnut!

Incredible value for money. Very comfortable bed in a clean little cabin. Basic but with everything you need really - a heater, toaster and kettle were provided. Toilets were right next to the cabins which was ideal, and were reserved for cabin guests only which was much appreciated as they were never busy. Fairlie is a lovely little village, and situated nicely for a day trip to Lake Tekapo (30min drive). Thank you!

I stayed in multiple camp sites during a bike tour in the Nth Island this summer but this last minute booking while down south beats all of them for value for money. Awesome standard of facilities & exceedingly friendly & helpful staff. I'll definitely be back when I am in Fairlie again.

I love the self check-in where the owner wrote your name and room number on the board. We stayed for three nights and saw staff cleaning up with the music - absolutely love the vibe. I used to live in Fairlie and was glad to be able to stay in town for a few days.

Fairlie is a lovely little town, and the ‘Old Forge’ was a wonderful, historic place to stay. The fires kept the place warm and cosy and there was plenty of room for us all. Chris the host was very easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again. :)

Lovely wee character house in a superb location in heart of Fairlie, very short walk to shops and cafes. Hosts made contact before stay and were very friendly and accommodating. Warm once both logburners were going and was a pleasant and unique stay.
