The outside hides a hidden gem on the inside. The room looks newly remodeled. It had nice little cozy touches like the electric fireplace. The bed was super comfy. The walk out balcony was a nice bonus.

Lovely little town away from tourist spots and really good value. Couple of pubs to eat at and a chinese and bakery and supermarket. We used it as a place to have a quiet day before going to Christchurch. Turned out much better than expected and after some rain it was beautiful to see all the snow covered mountains around the town.

Fairlie is a very small village with the main attractions being the alpaca farm (nice for families) and the local pie bakery, which has been hyped in social media. We found the pies being not above average, we had better ones in most places. The best thing about Fairlie was the Fairlie Holiday Park and its comfy rooms.HerbertThailand - 10Scored 10
Fairlie is a cute town that is close to many other places...
Fairlie is a cute town that is close to many other places such as Lake Tekapo and Timaru. It has a number of good shops and nice restaurants. When my partner and I came to stay we went to a restaurant called Carnegies and it does quite tasty pizzas. Fairlie Bakehouse is also a good place to stop by but be careful going at lunch time as it was extremely busy when we went at 12pm. We enjoyed reading the little info stands telling you about the history of Fairlie. There's also a place you can stay at (Rollesby accommodation) that has hot tubs, so lovely. My mum and I had an amazing stay - it completely exceeded our expectations - we were arriving late and Erin prepared the apartment for us beautifully and even put the electric fireplace heater on - it was so cosy in there! It is a nice little town with its own character. Travelled here from Lake Tekapo before leaving for Christchurch the next day so did not have much time to explore. The Mackenzie Motels were exceptional and the Fairlie Bakehouse was really lovely too. Really enjoyed my short stay here.

Fairlie is a small town, in the McKenzie Country. Short drives to Tekapo, Geraldine or Timaru. Very safe and friendly town with all facilities. Good eating places, swimming pool, playgrounds and facilities. Great for a family holiday, relaxing or exploring. Most of your stay, your car won't be needed, just walk around !!

Basic but with everything you need really - a heater, toaster and kettle were provided. Toilets were right next to the cabins which was ideal, and were reserved for cabin guests only which was much appreciated as they were never busy. Fairlie is a lovely little village, and situated nicely for a day trip to Lake Tekapo (30min drive). Thank you!

The old house has its charme and you can feel the time the house has already been here. There are lots of things to explore in the house. The records and the fire place really are gorgeous. Also it is not far away from Lake Tekapo. You also has to understand that it is an old house and so everything is askew and the wooden floor creaks. I really liked it!

Room also has off street parking. Staff were super friendly and helpful, as well as pointing us to the excellent Carnegie's restaurant for dinner.
