The Templar fortified church: amazing, though nothing to do with the Templars.
The little castle up the hill. A scramble, but a great view.
Closest town to utterly spectacular Cirque du Gavarnie; close enough to gorgeous Pont d'Espagne (drive round to Cauterets for access).
Cheerful pizza Ariane. Delicious fish soup and crevettes aioli at Piff.

Beautiful views, great hikes.
Beautiful views, great hikes. It was the shoulder season so much was closed. Be sure to arrive early enough and do the Cirque du Gavernie hike. Had dinner at La Terrace in town and the waiter recommended a special of the day of fish in an amazing sauce with potatoes. It was great.

Luz is a great base for a week of cycling the Tour de France routes of the High Pyrenees. We did 8 mountains on very good roads - fantastic routes with lots of climbing and beautiful nature. If you have one week just use Luz as your base. The village itself is pleasant, with a good selection of hotels, restaurants and shops (both practical shops and tourist shops). The main village centre has too much traffic for my liking, but the back alleys and streets are another world entirely. All in all Luz is an excellent base for all mountain activity holidays in the High Pyrenees.

Luz is great base to be for cycling the Pyrenees Cols. There are many famous routes to ride also there are many not so famous but just as good .Cycling up the lesser known Cirque de Troumouse is stunning and challenging too.The town itself is at the foot of the Col Du Tourmalet. Locals are very friendly. Also sat outside the cafes and bars in the cosy lite streets at night is very nice.

Great little town in the heart of an adventure area of the French Pyrenees. Being such a small town combined with European store/business hours, you need to time things right and plan ahead so stores are open and you can buy food, etc.

Gorgeous hotel on a quiet street but close to everything in Luz. Lovely people with loads of information about things to do and see, whose welcome made it feel that we were staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. But a friend's house in a beautiful building with amazing breakfasts. We loved how the hotel spilled out on to the street during the evening, and enjoyed a glass of wine or two right next to a templar church.
The owners of this hotel really put a personal touch on things. It was super cute, cozy and comfortable. They had just opened a vegan restaurant which was delicious! We received so many excellent recommendations of things to do, and enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to extend our stay an extra day. Most of the staff speaks English, which made things also very easy for us.
My husband and son stayed at this property.
The location is great. It is centrally located and is across the street from a good pizza place. There is ample parking nearby. The building is secure and clean. A continental breakfast is offered at a related hotel just down the street from the property.
Residence Val de Roland was perfect for our cycling holiday. The property was very clean and modern and had everything you needed. It was in a quiet location, but very close to the shops and restaurants. Monique was very helpful. Highly recommended. I hope we can visit again soon.
Typical French hotel , 1.5km from Centre of Luz St Sauveur. Room was small but clean and comfortable. View from the room was nice. The immediate area is interesting to walk around. Staff helpful. Parking outside hotel was no problem when we were there.
The personnel is super nice and always willing to help, the restaurant/ bar is a really good option if you don't want to move from the hotel. For the breakfast there were different options, including yammy croissants and pain au chocolat.
Every one at this hotel. We’re great very nice place to relax outside the confines of. The main Villlage 20 min walk BUT I cannot complain because the 15th stage of the Tour de France went by 10’ outside the door!
The hotel is located in an historical building and I had a room with a lot of charm with view on the mountains and the sound of the mountain stream down below. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating.
perfect location at the heart of Luz Saint Sauveur. Beautifully decorated apartments offers all the comfort needed for a family. exactly as described in listing.
