When I made the reservation, I was told that check in time was 3:00. We were traveling in the offseason, which we didn't know when we visited Switzerland and France, and many hotels and restaurants were closed and wouldn't open up until late May or June. We felt like we had the whole country to ourselves. After I made the reservation, I received an email from the hotel asking us what time we would arrive. I said we would be arriving before 3:00 p.m., anywhere from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. I received an email back that check-in was at 3:00 but they would do their best to get us in earlier. We ended up arriving around 2:00 p.m. . Every other hotel we stayed in while visiting Switzerland and France was able to get us into our room early because they were empty. The weather was terrible, the drive was rough, I got car sick, we got to the hotel around 2:00 and all I wanted to do was go to the room and lay down but our room wasn't ready. I was surprised because the whole town was shut down. The hotel bar and restaurant weren't even open. Nobody was in this town. It's not like they were booked up. I think there were maybe four other people staying at the whole hotel. Furthermore, our room wasn't ready until about 3:20. They offered us each a glass of wine while we waited for our room and I thought that was nice but when we checked out they charged us for it. They didn't have adequate coffee supplies in the room for the coffee maker and breakfast was an additional $26 per person which we didn't want to pay. The hotel room was okay, the bathroom was great, it was very small for what we pay. But the check-in experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. I know there were rooms available that he could put us in and we were so tired and only asking to check in 1 hour early. The map the front desk said check in time was at 4:00 but I went back and revisited the reservation and my reservation said 3:00. We just didn't feel welcome
