The hotel is a beautiful wooden building that stands apart from the neighboring houses. Inside, the lobby, bar and restaurant are cozy and warm, good to be at in the winter/spring. The ski shop is really handy (the goggles I bought there were great, and the ski gear was pretty good for a beginner), and so are the bus stops just outside the hotel, so if you are going on a ski trip, RockyPop offers really good value for money.

The welcome and friendliness were exceptional and so was the view. We arrived early and were accommodated without fuss. The restaurant was closed but we were directed to a very good place in the village 15 minutes away on foot. We were concerned about noise from the highway at night but that was not a problem and I am a very light sleeper.

Very nice area with beautiful mountain views, right under the famous Mont Blanc, easy to access quite a lot of ski lifts taking you up to the ski slopes. Very high level professional ski slopes
Les Houches' downside is their council operated facilities have arrogant staff (not including the cashier staff who are very nice). Ski slopes sign posts are very very badly done and very unclear. Maps are not nicely done not clear.

I never been treated so bad by a receptionist like in this...
I never been treated so bad by a receptionist like in this hotel. I called in the afternoon trying to find out how to get there from a sports event I was attend in Chamonix, and besides saying that this was not her problem, she turned the phone off on my face. I walked for 1h20 with my bags in the middle of the night to get there. Next day I explained the reason I could not stay the 2nd night, and she prompt said she would refund me. After quite few emails and now answer, I left a review here explaining other people that if you dont have a car, its impossible to reach the place (but they do not mention this on the hotel description). So today I called the hotel to follow up about my refund and the lady she screamed at me on the phone. She said because of my review, she would not refund. And again, that was my problem how I would get to the hotel. She turned the phone off on my face again. Never had such treatment in years booking hotels for my sports events.
I would like to let everyone knows about this situation, so no one can be fooled like I was.

Great place for all the family to ski together from the oldest in our group at 64 to the youngest at 6. All our kids and grandkids have learned to ski here, with a variety of slopes and challenges for everyone. We like the Kitch Inn restaurant in the village amongst others.

Les Houches is a great little ski area.
Les Houches is a great little ski area. It may not have the long runs of some resorts but we enjoyed all it had and enjoyed not having to queue for lifts. We actually had a full week of sunshine - which always helps, but is not able to be controlled.
The Chris-Tal hotel is a very nice family run hotel with a fantastic host. Stranded here by accident because of car trouble. The host was very helpful and help us with getting transportation and we could use the facilities after checkout while we had to wait for the car to be fixed. Also the host is a very good cook. We had a fantastic diner and the best fresh scrambled eggs during breakfast. If you stay here do have diner and breakfast at the hotel and it will make you smile.
We were delighted with our stay at the Chalet La Barme Les Houches. The guests were very friendly, responsive and helpful. The facilities have anything you need during a week of ski vacation: a beautiful mountain (Mt Blanc) view, ski closet, a warmed closet for the ski boots, great and clean bathroom and a cosy apartment.
We also particularly liked the shaded windows, which were very much appreciated for my partner's sleep quality!
The studio is in a great location. Very central for us. Directly across the road from the main ski lift. Ski hire shop next door. Also cafe/bakery next door for fresh bread in mornings, and for a beer or vin chaud after skiing all day. Car parking on site and ski locker on ground floor. Everything we needed.
Les Houches has some nice restaurants - can recommend trying Raclette at La Ferme Des Agapes.
Chalet had plenty of space and has potential to be a great spot if it's maintained properly. The views of the mountains were awesome and it's easy to walk into town and access restaurants, supermarket, etc. Train into chamonix was great and also easy to get to. Facilities in the chalet were good and we were comfortable with 3 adults and a couple of kids
Great value but very clean and well presented with attractive decor and a relaxed atmosphere. Food, including a varied breakfast, was excellent. Bar staff friendly with a good wine selection. They also had 6 Nations rugby on at the weekend! Easily walkable to the main lift for Les Houches, ski hire shops and the bars/restaurants of the village.
Cute, cozy, charming, and comfortable. The apartment is within walking distance of the gondola in a quiet area of Les Houches. The views of the mountains are amazing. The apartment is well-equipped
I liked that the location was not in the center of Chamonix. You can take the free bus or a very short drive if you've rented a car.
The perfect location in the best place in France. The view from the balcony of the Aguile de Midi is priceless and the beautiful Bellevue gondola is opposite.
Serge to rent skis from and the best Pizza restaurant downstairs. What more could you ask for?
Some more snow next time would be great.
To wake up in bed looking over to a view of Mont Blanc glistening in the morning diligent was a dream. Everything about the place was perfect. If you want to eat in the restaurant it’s good to book in advance, we didn’t and it was full, and there is not much on offer in Les Houches on a Monday.
The staff were fantastic - always friendly and helpful. The free chilled water/hot drinks in the lobby were welcome, as was the excellent space outside (particularly the giant cushions!). The free bus tickets were very useful and the half hourly bus to Chamonix stops just outside the hotel.
very nice lobby; fireplace with a small bar and snacks makes an end of day wind-down very pleasurable and cozy. room was nice; very kind staff; we felt quite welcome. incredible view. good comfortable beds. cozy overall feel of the hotel in a quiet area up on the hill.
our staying here was so perfect!!! We were choosing between hotel and apartments for our ski holidays, and happy, that choose this place! everything was so clean, new and comfort! With amazing spa zone! Best place we ever stayed!
-Good location, near bus stop to Chamonix, walking distance to shops and restaurants and Bellevue gondola
-Beautiful view of Mont Blanc from balcony
-Friendly staff, very kind and helpful
-Room was clean
Breakfast is perfect.
The Hotel is quiet and convenient.
The staff was friendly and very helpful!
The room is great but the shower is a bit little.
In overall I would go back again!
Location is very good, close to everything in Les Houches, there is a good restaurant in the hotel. Room was well sized, with a decent bathroom. It is easy to park around.
