This village has quite a few decent restaurants, also cafes and creperies. There's a large public parking area. The hotel was close to everything. No need to use a car. We were there for 4 nights, which was just about right for us. The pistes are all mostly intermediate and blue runs. So fun for me as I like to ski just cruising along stopping at mountain restaurants. The restaurant at the top of the Aravet Gondola has a great menu and entertainment. And perfectly placed for those who partied too much and didn't want to ski down.

This is a great resort for families.
This is a great resort for families. Access to the slopes is very easy (a few steps away) and a free bus will take you to any of the neighbouring ski lifts. We were particularly impressed by the Pontillas gondola (five minutes on the bus) as it takes you up very high to an incredible, long and wide green run which is right next to some blues. This was perfect for us as one of us is a beginner but the other two were ready for something a bit more adventurous. It is great to see such a great green run so high up. If there are any issues with snow down the bottom of the mountains, it tends to be the greens that suffer. The Pontillas is brand new so doesn't yet have a restaurant or facilities up there but we were warned in advance so it wasn't a problem. There is a lovely little restaurant at the bottom, called Chalet du Lac.
Beginners can purchase a debutant ticket for 18 Euros which gets you up there for as long as you want and then back again. We found all the ski staff to be very polite and friendly which was lovely after experiencing unpleasantness in Bulgaria. Being a smaller town, we also loved how quiet it was. We barely queued at all while we were there.

I'd say try to book your holiday not too far in advance.
I'd say try to book your holiday not too far in advance. This is difficult because resorts sell out, but if you're planning to ski you want there to be a lot of snow. We booked months in advance so there w as no guarantee it'd be super snowy and not warm and melty. It was a bit of the latter, unfortunately. Also check the dates of public school holidays for French kids (and British kids too, probably). Our holiday coincided with a French public school holiday which made for some very very crowded skiing and high anxiety.
I'd recommend Le Swallow in the village for apres ski and dinner. There are plenty of more "traditional"-looking places to eat and drink around, but we found that the people here were so consistently nice (Arnaud and Natacha) that we didn't want to eat or drink anywhere else. Their food was also much better than at some of the other places that pop up on google maps or tripadvisor. I'll write a separate review for them later... :)

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food is varied and delicious (we were half board dinner and breakfast as were skiing). Starter and dessert at dinner were buffet, main course was table service with a choice of 2 dishes). Pool, steam room and sauna were excellent facilities and lovely for a wind down after a hard day's skiing! Hotel is mostly French families which added to the enjoyment for us.
The room was nice but no blind on one window so , that very light in the morning and in my view, was an oversight. The staff were all very helpful and the hotel is in a beautiful spot. I would say that it's quite nice, the hotel looks good, the bar area is nicely presented but it's actually quite average overall. It's ok but nothing to write home about
hotel is close to shops and slopes alike. it has a pool, sauna, and other excellent facilities. rooms are on the small side for a family of 4, but big enough to still have a good stay, and unlike other places we’ve stayed in, Wi-Fi was actually working well. staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
We staid for one night as part of our plan to do a Lac de la Dauche track in the Des Ecrins park and visit Briancon. The hotel located in an old building with wooden stairs and floors. Has very rustic vibe. Good wi fi services. Spacious room for a family of four. The hosts were very pleasant.
The hotel was very comfortable, although the room was quite small. The best thing about the hotel apart from the ski in ski out location were the staff who were superb, always very friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The restaurant was very good qualilty too.
Cozy apartment, suitable for 4 people, if 2 don't mind sleeping on the bunk.
Good (although expensive) restaurant at the hotel. At the swimming pool you can find shade or relax on the sun.
Great location for summer cycling trips or winter skiing.
The hotel was located just steps away from the Aravet lift. The village was very cute with good restaurants, good variety. The staff at the hotel were great, nice and helpful. The room was snug, but there was adequate storage space.
The room was big and very comfortable for a family of 6. very well heated located at the attic with big windows and an elevator.
the location of the hotel is just perfect.
breakfast is good with very good products.
This is well organised and presented Hotel. I particularly liked the close proximity to the old part of Salles Des Alpes which is absolutely beautiful and has wonderful food and drinking options.
