Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone, hotel in Turku

This boutique hotel is housed in a building dating back to the 1920s. It is centrally located in Finland's oldest city, Turku.

The staff was absolutely excellent, everyone of them! They even let me check in a little earlier which was great because I had a long travel day. The room was gorgeous and super clean. The shower was great as well as the soap, shampoo, ect. they provided. The location was perfect! I was able to walk to the hotel from the main train station easily, and also walk to many places of interest. I walked to Logomo to see a concert and felt absolutely safe walking back to the hotel by myself, as a solo female traveler. I would 100% recommend this hotel and I will definitely be staying here again. I go to the beautiful country of Finland every year, it's a breath of fresh air! Oh, and the breakfast was excellent! And I'm a picky eater!

The Cradle of Finnish Culture

The original capital of Finland, Turku is the country’s oldest city that features a bustling harbour, an array of museums and restaurants, and is renowned for being the cradle of Finnish culture.

During the summer Turku’s waterfronts come alive with boat bars and cafés, along with popular festivals such as Ruisrock Festival and Turku Music Festival, which are held in July and August respectively.

It is a good experience from spring until autumn. In between everything is gloomer with less opportunities. At any time of year, you should not expect that most people will meet your eyes nor smile. Nature is nice and during the summer there are possibilities visiting archipelago. If you are in the downtown, don't forget to visit over 100 year old Turku market hall, where you can have a great lunch and feel the local vibe. There are also plenty of unique nature walks around the sea or forests close b

Nice places to visit: Turku Castle, Cathedral. The city is beautiful and very clean. Ate a couple of times at Timbuktu. Very nice African restaurant. Public transport is cheap, on-time and convenient. It is 3 euros for two hours on any bus line. The city doesn't sleep in summer time. Firsthand experience!

Just a lovely city with plenty of attractions to visit, naval history, medieval castle, lovely parks, plenty of choice regarding eating out (recommend Panimoravintola Koulu; Lone Star (burgers, fries)), easy to get around by walking, bike and/or scooter. Great base for exploring the islands of the Turku Archipelago. Must see attractions include Luostarimaki open air history quarter, walking or running along the Aura river, Turku medieval castle at Linnanpuisto park, Ispoinen beach and Sauna; various historical sailing ships along the Aura.

I went to Turku for Knotfest, so I didn't have enough time to see all the views. But, since I've been to Turku many times, I can tell you that it is an excellent place to visit with many sights to see, and not overly touristy. I recommend seeing Turun Linna (Turku castle), the River Aura, the old wooden neighborhoods, and the Turku cathedral. If you are traveling on a budget, the public transport system works well, unless you use it after midnight when music festivals have just finished, such as Knotfest. In that case, be prepared to get ditched by bus drivers. For cheap food, you can download the ResQ app to buy cheap lunches from restaurants and help reduce food waste in the process. Hotel Kakola is a converted prison so it has a very interesting aesthetic. Our room was spacious, with a huge bathtub and a balcony. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The pizza served in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast had lots of interesting choices, something for everyone. The hotel spa had a fantastic saunas and pools, but it is extra, not included. We’ve been traveling all over Scandinavia for five weeks and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in.

We stayed at the Marina Palace because my son had to undergo surgery in Turku. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more understanding, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The room, besides being aesthetically pleasing, boasted every conceivable comfort. The hotel is in a lovely area and is also very central. I really look forward to returning to this hotel someday. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff, for a memorable experience. ❤️

The hotel was suprisingly nice - despite the fact that it's located on top of a Hesburger restaurant, the room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. Despite the restaurant downstairs there was no noise or fast food smell The check-in happened in the restaurant, but the hotel had a separate entrance and there was no need to visit the restaurant again to get into your room etc. There was also free parking right behind the hotel.

The host met us at the property and gave a good rundown on all the facilities and appliances. A well set out apartment, clean as a pin. Bed was a little soft for my liking and bathroom typically small but with everything you could need and more in the kitchen. Good central location. Easy walk or ride to the city, swimming pool, parks and supermarket; everything we were after. Definately recommend this apartment and the host.
