We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

For those who likes to be in nature. There is nearby two very good birdwatching places: Maarian lintutorni and Laajalahden lintutorni. I also recommend to visit Villa Elfin nearby. Also Gallen-Kallela museum is worth of visiting.

The Bus station is also nearby another locations. An The apartment has a small desk for working, balcony for enjoying quite moments, fully functional kitchen and comfy lighting for a relaxing evening. The host Antii is super responsive. The instructions he sent for the check-in were detailed and clear.

We came in off season (October) and the place was so calm and peaceful. Very easy to get there by bus 236. Highly recommended! The sauna is located next to the lake so you can jump to the 8 Celsius water (in Autumn) right after the sauna! Amazing experience for the body. Be aware that the restaurant is super expensive.

I like the scenery from the window, which is towards the sea. You can use the sauna and pool until mid-night. And you can even hop into the sea in between your sauna sessions. You can borrow bikes from the hotel. We could have done it, although I didn't know how the bicycle parking should be done in Helsinki.
