Quite possibly the most spectacular location and view we have experienced. To be able to sit in a poll or the rooftop hot tub and look at the towering Dolomites literally in front of you is an experience to not be missed. Add to this the access to the Rainer Family Resort amenities across the street and the walking distance into town and this is truly a family vacation dream. The apartments are extremely comfortable as well and our kids loved the bunk beds. Lastly, easy access to outstanding hiking (including to Tre Chime) was icing on the cake.

Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails.
A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles.
Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early.
We were there during early July. Low season and ski season are probably different in interesting ways.

The apartment has its own parking lot. The ski gondola is 5 minutes away by car. The apartment is spacious enough. The apartment has bed linen and towels. A 5-minute walk to the store-Spar. We ate at the restaurant at the top of the gondola.

Its ok if you just need a place to crash in between a long trip... But nothing more.
The hotel is literally a parking lot on steroids. But still, a freaking parking lot for caravans. The food was really bad and worst the waiters. If you book the room with the dinner included you just lost yourself 35bucks.
Over all the spa was good enough. Some of the treatments were closed due to issues with the corona virus. But in general well designed and relaxing. Of course there were little or no people because of the virus fear. which make it all better for us as we had the pool for ourself.

We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us.
We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us. To get to the highest peaks requires some stamina and some technique (via feratta). The flowers in July are superb. There are many mountain biking routes in the area but we didn’t partake.

Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction.
Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction. Accommodations and great restaurants are abundant and so many trails. A quick trip to Austria is just an hour or two away. True, the locals are not as warm and fuzzy as those effusive Italians we met in Pisa, Florence, Arezzo, or Piesa de Preciano (5 new FB friends!!!!) but you just can't beat the Dolomiti for sheer beauty! And it's COOLER.
Hotel is a hidden gem. Very nice secluded location on the pass right before Sesto, sorounded with mountains, very romantic and very scernic.
Hotel is a very good four star hotel, very clean, trooms are comfortable, bathrooms are big, bright and very clean.
There is quite big wellness wuith a beautiful pool, jaccuzzi and different saunas.
Breakfast is superb and dinner beyond everything.
And they have very good and professional staff.
We will definitely come again, we just hope, they will have the same chef also next year:-)
The hotel has a fairytale welcoming staff eversince a guest opens the front door. We were amazed by the waiters, recepsionist who took a great care of us, including our two children. The food is outstanding, I believe that the hotel should be awarded with Michelin stars for the dinner it serves. It is modern, yet kept the authenticity of the building. The room was spacious, spa was nice and the dinning area was lovely. We loved everything about this hotel.
Hotel Gruber is one of the best accommodations, maybe the very best, that I have ever been to. Absolutely perfect service: food, drink, transport to the slopes, wellness, incredibly nice staff, cleanliness, professionalism. And the most important thing for me... It's a family hotel, I know who I'm giving my money to and what I'm getting for it. The services correspond to a far higher category of hotel. Amazing family! In short, a perfect vacation.
The hotel appeared to be recently renovated. The room was really practical and had an amazing wooden chalet feel. It was so cozy, the view was amazing and the location of the guest house was extremely practical. We loved everything and we really want to go back next year. The owners are a lovely family, you could also get some fresh produce from their organic farm at the hotel (fresh eggs, flour, jams, fermented beet preserves etc).
The view from the room and deck couldn’t be improved. The breakfast was extensive and varied from day to day, with the basics always available. The grounds were pristine and the rooms sleek. The kitchen had all the necessaries. We were told the hotel was “short handed,” but we would have never known. Sesto/Sexten was a short, pleasant (by the back trail) walk and had everything we needed.
All the facilities were top class. State of the art spa, the indoor/outdoor pool was absolutely amazing. There is so much to choose from to do at this hotel, it feels like a 5 star resort. Staff were extra helpful when asked for directions on the bus line and shuttle. I highly recommend staying here, the views and location are unbeatable
AMAZING HOTEL! We were genuinely surprised and enjoyed our whole stay. It’s in a great location and has beautiful views all around. The staff is very nice and showed us all of the great amenities available between the Suites and the attached hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean.
Perfect hotel! Stylish, very clean, comfortable, high quality. Good location near services. The staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was versatile, we couldn't wish anything more. The rooms were spacious, beds great, big balcony. And the view from the balcony was exceptional!
This is the best place to stay when visiting the Dolomites. We were amazed by our bungalow we stayed in and the views the park offered. I would and plan to return. We loved the spa and facilities. The restaurants on the site were awesome as well. They were super pet as well.
The location was great for the activities like hiking or biking. Most of the activities can start directly at the hotel. The hotel has very nice staffs and a nice view as it’s name.
You always get tipps or recommendations on your favorite activities.
The location is superb, the last hotel before the pure nature and the mountins. It also have a very good spa nad pool area. Everything - especially the grass is very well maintained and decorated. Staff OK and the food and service as well.
Lovely family-owned hotel, recently renovated. Delicious breakfast, the staff is kind and welcoming. The room was spaceous, spotless, with balcony faces towards the mountains.
Excellent spa facilities. Highly recommended!
Big bathroom, lots of places to stove belongings, swimming pool and hot tub, dogs welcome (for a price), hiking trails right by the hotel, free parking, sweet staff and cleaning lady.
