San Cassiano is the best ski area in the Sella Ronda area - sunny all day, great pistes, empty lifts. If you want to go to Marmolada, you can go directly from San Cassiano to Arabba (without Corvara - saving time). Another nearby area I recommend is Alta Badia and Colfosco (no super ski pass required). If you go to Sella Ronda, I recommend visiting Pass Pordoi (2950m) - comparable views as from Marmolada, no queues, few people.

The Alta Badia area is in my opinion the most stunning place i have ever skied. It is not good for experts but if you are like me and been skiing for 40 years then perfectly prepared long blue runs are ideal .The Hidden Valley run is a must do - the only problem there is having to stop and take your gloves off every couple of minutes to take a photo as every corner gives you a new stunning view.

A great place for skiing with a family.
A great place for skiing with a family. An incredible selection of all types of slopes and minimal queues at the lifts. We appreciated the ski bus from the apartment to the slopes. I only missed an option for night skiing.

Nothing of historical architectural merit.
Nothing of historical architectural merit. Nice position overlooking the valley and mountain tops.
Artificially created expensive holiday village that was a little clinical if not completely charmless. Nothing old, natural or of local character here but OK for a touring base for those without budget concerns.
We have booked apartment. Studio. In ciasa La Ro, but ended up in ciasa Anteriol. This was a decision of hotel Fanes, which drives, probably both houses. We liked everything - room size, location (right in front of butcher shop and only 5 minutes by car to ski lift), confortable beds, comfortable shower, fully equippted kitchen. Even daily cleaning (except Easter monday). Reception presonal was very friendly and helpful. By check out we got a can with honey. It was very sweet.
Breakfast is fabulous, as was the entire kitchen staff -- readily helped with dietary needs and options, adding to a seemingly endless selection. Apres-ski celebrations added a nice touch -- were fun and free. Advice on skiing itineraries was invaluable -- followed host's recommendation to find neat sites and sights to tour. Hotel offers a near-lift proxy ski-room location which was well equipped and very convenient.
We had most wonderful time at Casa Antersies. Ivica and his wife were amazing hosts and we got 5 star hotel experience. Gibanica and home made rakija after long day at skiing were hard to beat even with all good food in Alta Badia. We cant recommend place enough and we will for sure come back.
Cleanliness of property was impeccable and ski transfer worked great even on peak days around NY.
Good communication with the owners. Super kind family & staff. Very accommodating. The studio apartment was very nice - felt more like a one bedroom rather than a studio. Kitchen was well equipped. Was not expecting daily cleaning, so that was a nice service. Fantastic location, very close to the ski slopes. We would certainly stay here again!
Great place to stay in Dolomites. It is traditional Alpine hotel at 1700m above sea level surrounded by alpine passes well above 2000m.
It was shoulder season so the front desk staff was there only until 5PM. But they called us and explained how to get in so there was no problem arriving later in the evening.
Couldn’t ask for a better stay! Lovely family owned and operated hotel, with outstanding hospitality and delicious dinner, wine & breakfast. Great location, amazing spa with a gorgeous view, recently renovated with great attention to detail - we wish we could stay longer!
The food is incredible. The staff are so lovely, spa treatments are the best I’ve ever had. Views are stunning. This was the most perfect and beautiful way to relax and celebrate or Honeymoon. Thank you Hotel Fanes. You exceeded our expectations completely
What a wonderful little hotel surrounded by incredibly beautiful scenery. Family run, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. My room was surprisingly large. It had a built in dinette/dinner booth in it which was a very nice surprise. Huge balcony.
It was perfect - service, quality of the room, food, location, etc... It truly was a great find and place I plan on going back to in the near future. There is nothing left to say.
The farmhouse is perfectly located on the hills of the Dolomites with an amazing view of the mountains out front. The house is very modern and calm, in a small but beautiful town.
Cold and quiet room (although temperatures were soaring); very friendly staff, conveniently located near to the supermarket and although close to the road, one could not hear it.
Quiet and comfortable enough, albeit small. The location is reasonably close to a variety of trailheads and ski lifts, if you don't mind the winding drive up and out of the town.
