Everything! You get what you pay for, but the staff went above and beyond. I left a note when booking the hotel that I was on my honeymoon. They upgraded us to a suite and left us cookies in the room. The included breakfast was high quality, plentiful, and offered a wide array of options. We ate at one of the hotels restaurants two nights in a row. The food again was fresh, high quality and delicious. If you love natural wine, the selection offered at dinner will blow your mind. The spa (which is included) is not to be missed. We spend a rainy day in the pool, Turkish baths, infared light sauna. I will absolutely be coming back and you should too. (Btw, we went in between the busy season and practically had the hotel to ourselves).
A large garden with children's playground and wellness area with sauna and Turkish bath are all available at Hotel Ciasa Ai Pini. Accommodations comes with balconies overlooking the Dolomites.
Chalet Ciasa Alexander offers a bar with terrace overlooking the main square of San Cassiano. It offers a free sauna and Turkish bath, free parking and elegant rooms with wood floors.

San Cassiano is the best ski area in the Sella Ronda area - sunny all day, great pistes, empty lifts. If you want to go to Marmolada, you can go directly from San Cassiano to Arabba (without Corvara - saving time). Another nearby area I recommend is Alta Badia and Colfosco (no super ski pass required). If you go to Sella Ronda, I recommend visiting Pass Pordoi (2950m) - comparable views as from Marmolada, no queues, few people.

The Alta Badia area is in my opinion the most stunning place i have ever skied. It is not good for experts but if you are like me and been skiing for 40 years then perfectly prepared long blue runs are ideal .The Hidden Valley run is a must do - the only problem there is having to stop and take your gloves off every couple of minutes to take a photo as every corner gives you a new stunning view.

A great place for skiing with a family.
A great place for skiing with a family. An incredible selection of all types of slopes and minimal queues at the lifts. We appreciated the ski bus from the apartment to the slopes. I only missed an option for night skiing.

Nothing of historical architectural merit.
Nothing of historical architectural merit. Nice position overlooking the valley and mountain tops.
Artificially created expensive holiday village that was a little clinical if not completely charmless. Nothing old, natural or of local character here but OK for a touring base for those without budget concerns.
The hotel is in a stunning area and the staff could not be more helpful or welcoming. The rooms have incredible views and the breakfast spread is excellent. The hotel is about a 1km walk downhill into town where there are a few restaurants in the evening. Coming back up it's a bit of a climb, but it helps digestion! My partner had to do some work while we were out and the WiFi was fantastic and well up to speed for this.
Overall would definitely recommend if you're looking for a base from which to explore this fabulous area.
Very friendly and helpful staff . Gave a lot of tips for our trip . Great breakfast, lots of fresh fruits. Convenient location to the gondola (5 minutes easy walk through the scenic town, even quicker without skis, a lot of people were just walking around the town to take in the views.
(We left our skis at the ski service at the bottom of the gondola to get waxed so we won’t have to carry them back and forth, lots of ski rentals too at the bottom of gondola)
Right next to the pedestrian area of San Cassiano in close proximity to the cable car. Rooms were clean and cosy - rustic but modern and well equipped. Staff were attentive and very friendly. The SPA was wonderful too, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi were in top condition. Breakfast with a great selection of fruits, cheeses, meat, fish, and a variety of bread and home made pastries. We loved our stay and will come again…
The property was clean, the room was large, my partner enjoyed the tub, and our first floor room had two doors which opened to the balcony. the staff was friendly and we appreciated the welcome drink and having tea on the lobby balcony. There is no dinner at this hotel but we did appreciate them getting us pizza from a local restaurant.
Very cosy bed and breakfast type of pension, with clean and spacious rooms, nice staff. We went during summer to do some hikes in the area, and while the hotel and a couple of restaurants were open, you could tell that the city is alive during winter.
For reference, Lago Braies is a 1:30 drive, Lago Sorapis trail 1:00 drive.
Overall an amazing honeymoon stay. Different places reachable by car. Hiking paths started also from the village. Calm atmosphere and amazing breakfast! Info letter every morning that helped us to plan our holiday (participated in Dolomites Biking Day!) Very kind and helpful staff. Great beds.
Very spacious room - more like a service apartment with fully equipped kitchen. Large terrace. Clean and efficient. Excellent breakfast serving. Shuttle service at fixed time to the ski lift. Free ski storage at the ski lift. Large parking available. Efficient checkin-checkout.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. It was in a beautiful area and close to many ski and winter sport options. Alex was very nice and spoke great English. Highly recommend it’s a beautiful area to explore! I will definitely come back for a longer stay.
What a wonderful little hotel surrounded by incredibly beautiful scenery. Family run, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. My room was surprisingly large. It had a built in dinette/dinner booth in it which was a very nice surprise. Huge balcony.
Amazing location with free ski bus to take you to the slopes, ski storage room for after you ski amazing breakfast, very comfortable bed big bathroom just a great place! Absolutely would recommend to stay here and would gladly stay here again!!!
Very nice, helpful and communicative staff. Great approach, beautiful clean apartment. A short walk to the ski resort. We were absolutely satisfied with everything and thank you very much, we were definitely not the last time here.
We loved the setting. Took a back room facing the pine forest and the nearly 10,000’ peaks behind us. Our spacious room had a deck with table and chairs. Loved the sauna and accessories! Friendly staff.
Close to Piz Sorega cable car, skibus available (bus stop next to the building). Car park available. Very nice staff. I really advice this location for skiing.
