The tourist season in the city is mainly between April and November, so some restaurants/bars are open for limited time, but this is specific to the city as a whole. But still there are a huge number of stores that are open and having sales. The city is very charming and beautifully situated. Typical for rest and light physical activity.

A compact city centre with easy to use transport facilities. Good choice of bars and restaurants and shops. For winter sports lovers it's a short bus ride to the cable car to the mountain facilities of Merano 2000 for skiing, hiking or just enjoying the view of the city on a clear day.

Merano is an amazing place with an incredible Spa, especially if you take advantage of the sauna area. Countless good restaurants available everywhere you look. The botanical garden at Trauttmansdorff is well worth a visit; allow enough time to enjoy it properly. Meran2000 is a must do for outdoorsy people. It's a bit upscale. Lots of fancy shops and stores. You can go swimming in the river upstream aways there's a swimming hole that can be seen from the Torre delle Polveri. Go to the Forst Biergarten restaurant. It was so good I ate there three times.

Small city close to the mountains, crossed by a river. Very nice walking paths next to the river, where you can also find restaurants, bars and ice-cream shops. Also two main streets full of shops and also eating/drinking opportunities. Very easy to get around, all within walking distance.

I love everything about Merano , even the few cold and wet days were fine . There’s lots of nice Museums, Gardens , Castles and fantastic walks around the Mountains . My Hotel was just the best , the Food was first Class as well as the service. The Family owned Hotel is just wonderful with lost of suggestions of things to do for their Guests … and the staff obviously hand picked , were first class.

We had the three bedroom apartment with air-conditioning. Each kid had its own luxury bedroom with TV. Kitchen was fully equipped, Coffee, sugar, salt, vinegar and oil are already there. Spar supermarket and bakery close by. Car park accessible via a car-lift: cool!. Building is very close to the centre of town. All restaurants, shops are reachable on foot. The hotel, which coexists with a monastery, was excellent, quiet, with excellent gardens and offers more than expected. Also the location seems to be rather convenient. Parking was a bit difficult since there was no dedicated space but street parking and public parking lots, but most of them were full all the time.
