It's close to Merano (which is much better known and visited), and also fairly touristy, but with the businesses aimed more at cultured tourists rather than mass tourism (not sure if there were any chain hotels there), interested in arts and finer dining. I landed there by very lucky accident (due to problems booking a room in Merano).

Merano is only a short drive away and also supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries are at short distance. We loved the interior specifically and jsut felt very home. Thanks for this special stay.
