It is a decent base for trips in the Dolomites, but there are better. I chose it due to availability and prices.
While the city sits right on the side of the autostrada, the actual connections to it are quite far and take surprising long to get to.
The Aquarena is a good place for kids to spend a few hours.

The old town is wonderful - its clean its easy to get around . the walks along the banks of the 2 rivers who meet in Bessanone are tree-lined, but watch out for casual cyclists. The surrounding mountains (up to 2000m), and small villages are truly spectacular. Train and bus services seem to be excellent although it can be difficult to get reliable information on times. The Brexin Card (free from our accomodation) provides free/discounted entry to various venues and services. This card is an initiative that otther towns could well adopt to assist travellers

A small, but beautiful part of it is the old town with building from the middle ages that were very beautifully renovated. A modern library in the centre of the old town. With local wine made at Neustift / Novacella. The beautiful Dolomiten-Alps surround the city and they are a great view. The Hofburg is beautiful to visit. But also to have a wine tasting - they produce wine since 1142!!! - at the monastery.

Bressanone/Brixen is such a lovely, quiet, northern Italian town, where is surrounded by the mountains and cluttered with kindness. The general hospitalities from the hotels, restaurants and gift shops are mega great. You don't need to worry about any xenophobic attitude from the residents.
Plus, the geo-location is perfect if you would like to visit Dolomites or having any mountain climbing. The info centre is quite helpful and the paper map is explicit.
To sum up, the town will be one of the best Italian towns i have ever been :) Super recommending undoubtedly!!!!!!!!

We walked in the mountains that was my favourite.
We walked in the mountains that was my favourite. Went to town and walked in the old centro, some nice shops. We found a great kitchen store and purchased a few great things I have been looking for. We did not eat as our breakfast was very fulfilling. We found parking very easily and yes it is direct. We should have gone to the cable car Plose but no time. Also found a floral workshop but it was off hours.

This is a very easy going town away from the crowds of the big cities
If you need a quiet place to stay but have adventure on your agenda, Bressanone is the ticket! Head up to the Plose with your Brexit ticket that gives you free transportation by bus, train or cable car - then take your mountain bike up the mountain, or your family, or both!
A hidden gem is Bressanone!
The property is very sleek and streamlined without being cold. All aspects of the property are clean and spacious—rooms, bathroom, stairway, garage. The bed is very comfortable as is the shower. While some travelers might shy away from all digital checkin process, I found Gerharts to be doing an excellent job with it—always having a friendly and helpful human as a back up. I really appreciated the organization of the place as well as the thoughtfulness of the complementary bits and pieces.
The staff is amazing here! I met Elizabeth on the first day, then Alif and Lucia - all of whom were very friendly and welcoming! They recommended their restaurant partners and gave me a daily voucher for 10% off my meals. I would have gladly paid full price at their partner restaurants, they were amazing! This hotel is close to downtown, but not so close that you have the summer crowds crowding every inch of sidewalk. A cool evening stroll puts you in the Plaza in 5 minutes
The hotel is very nice, the staff friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. The location is right in the city center. The hotel has a great website that informs guests on events, tours and possible hiking trails. You also get a Brixen pass when you check-in that will allow you to take public transport for free but also give you free entrance to various sites/museums. Had we known, we would have taken advantage of this when visiting the Neustift Abbey.
What a good price/quality ratio! This hotel offers everything you can think off: various swimming pools, a complete wellness, an equiped and comfortable library, good restaurant. Breakfast was lovely with also healthy stuff (loved the vegetable juice maker!!). Its an hour drive to the superski dolomiti area but taking into account price vs accomodation, it is all wortwhile tu us. I would definitely go there again!
family running hotel, every member of the hotel do its job with love on 100 pct and pamper you from the firs step in to the hotel, great and delicious breakfast, recommend half board, dinners are amazing and equals Michelin star restaurant, SPA area beautiful and large
The hotel was great. We had a one bedroom apartment. There was plenty of space. We were right next to the ski lift and there are many walks in the area so the situation of the hotel was perfect. The staff were amazing and very helpful.we loved our stay here
Just passing through but a lovely place to spend then night, Bressanone and this hotel. Super clean and comfortable single room with plenty of space and a balcony. Nice pool area and a high quality breakfast.
Amazing hotel!!! absolutly stunning furniture and design of the room! Very comfortable and worth of money. Free apples are very nice. Nice restaurant in the hotel. Easy car parking. Will come back again!
The hotel is excellent, rooms are newly decorated and very comfy. But the best was the staff, all staff we met at the hotel was friendly, kind and caring and made our stay really great.
Beautiful and comfortable hotel. Could not fault it. Comfortable rooms, staff very friendly and accommodating. Food and service were very good.
We would recommend this hotel.
Very nice hotel. The only thing there is no restaurant inside, but close to it it has many possibilities :))
Best for kids, hens, sheeps, tractor. Wonderful.
The history of the hotel is fascinating. I loved discovering all of the elephants around the hotel. Just staying at the hotel is an experience in itself.
