The cozy town is surrounded by stunning nature.
The cozy town is surrounded by stunning nature.
Not a lot of people, but two supermarkets are located with walking accessibility.
Winter views like alpine.
And of course, amazing coniferous forests.
Be careful - it is easy to fall in love with this place.

The town is just a starting point for all sort of adventures, there's nothing to say about it - just hotels and restaurants, but the Black Lake is within a walking distance, and lots of other beautiful places are around.

Žabljak is the perfect place for hiking lovers.
Žabljak is the perfect place for hiking lovers.
There are plenty of options around for all kinds of levels. Be advised that crossing the national park from Sedlo to Žabljak over Bobotov Kuk is harder than what it seems on paper! That was my first hike there and I completed it but was really tired afterwards and did finish in the dark. The face of Bobotov Kuk that is in the direction of Žabljak is made of loosse rock and is quite steep. Bear that in mind.
Card acceptance is half and half, so bring enough cash just in case.
3 hiking routes recommendations:
1) Bobotov Kuk (choose based on your level and experience, and START EARLY!)
2) Chill stroll around the lakes (Black, Green and Brown) to let the legs rest
3) Planinica hike, beautiful views according to reviews (I had to turn back halfway due to rain, again, START EARLY).

The environment in Zabljak is overwelming.
The environment in Zabljak is overwelming. The mountains are stunning and beautiful. It’s great to walk/hike (bring sturdy shoes), but we also liked the rafting on Tara river very much. Expect no big rapids in summer, but it was a tremendous beautiful trip through the canyon. We loved it!

Zabliak is beautifully situated right next to the Durmitor...
Zabliak is beautifully situated right next to the Durmitor National Park which is the main attraction - and to be honest - the only attraction. The place is not particularly beautiful and the many construction sites do not give reason to expect that it will soon become more beautiful. There are some restaurants that have adapted to the tourists, i.e. moderate service and comparatively high prices. The place markets itself as a hiker's paradise, but offers only comparatively few hiking trails. A big annoyance are the quads that drive around everywhere, even in the national park and can negatively affect the hiking holiday in the long term.
The Durmitor National Park is very beautiful and the drive on the Durmitor Ring scenic road is highly recommended.
Located just a 5 minutes drive from Žabljak that is the perfect spot to stay. The look on the mountains are incredible and the cottages are really cozy. At the same time they're are missing nothing. A modern bathroom, heating and WiFi are all there. The host is really kind, she arranged everything for a late Check In. And when I forgot something in the cottage she wrote me immediately so I had not a long ay to return. Just perfect!
last but not least. Everything in the Durmitor National Park isreachable by car in short time from here.
The hotel is located in a peaceful area, away from busy Zabljak and with a nice view on the mountains.
It seems very new and is very clean.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant and felt very welcomed by the staff. Especially Rad was very kind and helpful, he was very generous with his time and gave us amazing recommendations for our visit at Durmitor National Park. He is always open for a chat and any requests.
The hotel dog Linda and the animals around made it a special and cosy location.
Our experience was exceptional. It started with us booking the hotel 1 hour before arriving. To our surprise, the hotel was exceptional, and our host (Jovanna) extremely welcoming and delightful. She was very friendly, gave us a tour of the the hotel/room, and quickly heated the outside jacuzzi & sauna for us. The hotel is a true GEM, with amazing views of the town and mountains, extremely comfortable, great design, and outstanding service. Highly recommend for couples or families visiting Durmitor.
The house is excellent - located close to Zabljak (though needs a car/bike), and situated in beautiful meadows with a stunning view over Durmitor. Likely a better view than many of the apartments within the centre of Zabljak. Hosts were very friendly, and it is excellent value for money.
The house is reasonably basic, so perhaps look elsewhere if you want modern appliances, but is exactly we wanted - rustic, functional, friendly, and a great base for exploring the national park.
Everything was very nice. Perfect quiet location close to nature, 5 min drive to Durmitor, Zabljak. Hosts are super friendly even made for us priganice, yummy delicious local dessert with honey and home-made jam. We also enjoyed sitting in the yard and swinging in the hammock. Accommodation is nice with comfortable beds, fresh bed sheets and towels, have everything for cooking and awesome stay. Never slept better :). Thank you for your warm hospitality, dear hosts
Great location in center of Zabljak, the main town to stay for activities in Durmitor national park. Hosts were lovely - so friendly and helpful. Room was large and clean, nice private bathroom, and there was even a mini fridge in the hallway which was great for us to store breakfast and lunch foods. Price was excellent. There’s also a nice shared terrace to have breakfast or coffee. Overall perfect stay for our two nights. Would highly recommend!
Etno village right between Durmitor park and Zabljak, our 2 night in the nice typical sheperd cabin were amazing.
The cabins are clean and bed comfortable and the small cabin was so cute!
The common place for having a drink and meeting other peoples staying there for the night was so nice. Ivan was nice, fun and helping a lot.
Warm recommendation to go there and enjoy the place and the peoples!
A warm welcome and an excellent location. It is quiet and, despite neughbouring with the owner’s house, private. Much better than being in/close to Zabljak. An excellent starting point for hikes in Durmitor. You get a beautiful view of the local meadows and hills. The kitchen could use a bit more by way of equipment but unless you are looking to cook a lot, you will be fine.
The view from the shared kitchen/lounge area was spectacular. There was a restaurant at the ski centre which was good, and a taxi to Zabljak costs €3-5 or is a 45min or so walk. The host was very contactable via booking.com and also by whatsapp and helped organise taxis for us. Great proximity to the durmitor mountains and we came here for hiking which didn't disappoint!
We had a great time at Rent-a-house Laki. the owners were super responsive on whatsapp ahead of our arrival in Zabljak, since we had many questions on transports. when arrived we were warmly welcomed with lemonade. The room was simple but very clean and sufficient for what we needed. I recommend this accommodation to anyone willing to visit Durmitor !
A wonderful place to stay on Durmitor, near Žabljak. The location is great, the view is great, the cottage is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. It is very cosy, very clean, just great. The best sleep I've had for a long time. :) And the hosts are super friendly and nice. If you plan on visiting Durmitor area, stay here, you won't regret!
Super cosy, cute private hut with everything you need!
Only a short drive to Zabljak, perfect if you have a rental car to discover Durmitor.
The loveliest host we had so far in our 1month trip in the Balkans: very welcoming and generous.
Best deal you can make for the region.
I had an incredible stay. Amazing value. Clean. Wildly spacious for the price. I'm a fan of firmer beds, so I even took note of the mattress brand to try and buy a similar one back home. I couldn't believe there was even laundry available! Zabljak is magical.
It was my first stay in Žabljak. And I got what I wanted.
Good value for money for one night stay.
The ground floor is a bit outdated.
However, upper floor is perfect.
I used electrical heater so it was very warm in the house.
Lovely house / cottage near Durmitor and Black Lake etc. It was cosy, clean, spacious and the host was very communicative. Short drive to Žabljak. Highly recommended.
Owners were super friendly and the restaurant onsite had amazing food. Great location just outside of Zabljak and easy to get around everywhere in the area by car!
The apartment was clean and well managed. Facilities are completely new. It has a nice view from the porch and it's located in a peaceful place of Zabljak.
