San Carlos de Bariloche is located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by the magnificent Nahuel Huapi National Park. Perched among 2000-metre high mountains, the town is one of the biggest winter sports resorts in South America. It is the Argentinean capital of artisan chocolate, and mixes Central European influence with native traditions.
Originally populated by different native tribes, the modern settlement grew in the last decades of the 19th century around the shop of the German immigrant Carlos Wiederhold. Its development reached a peak in the 1930s, with the completion of the railroad, the creation of the national park, and the construction of several emblematic buildings. The Civic Centre and the Neo-Gothic cathedral, as well as some famous Bariloche hotels were built to resemble a Swiss village.
The city is one of the most popular destinations in Argentina and a gateway to Patagonia. Hotels, luxury resorts, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels, are part of Bariloche’s large range of accommodation. It has famous ski stations like Mount Catedral, and is also the traditional destination for students in their last year of secondary school.
A 2-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche Airport is the quickest way to reach the town. If you’re planning a trip to Patagonia, don’t miss the Bariloche hotel deals available on Booking.com!
the amazing views, their breakfast room, they had the best...
the amazing views, their breakfast room, they had the best sushi restaurant with inside or outside sitting area overlooking lakes, mountains and award winning sushi.
getting around was easy we had our own rental car and visited other towns. I would avoid booking the type of room in the old part of the Hotel, they have a new and better section. they do have a well train staff that offers area tours, we drove to different areas ,visiting Cerro Tronador,Villa Angostura,Circuito chico, having more time to enjoy the views. Roads are safe to drive.

The worst in San Carlos de Bariloche is everything that is...
The worst in San Carlos de Bariloche is everything that is sold and offered to the tourists. Every walk you take is better than any paid tour. Not just because by walking around you'll get better views (amazing views by the way) and also overall experiences (get closer to the nature, be able to actually listen the sounds in the woods, do it at your own relaxed times) but also because you will avoid extremely (!!) long queue lines, bad mooded couples fighting, kids crying, dirt and noise...
To sum up, there are so many astonishing trails to walk around Bariloche and you get to see everything you want, that paying for a tour is just a rookie mistake.

Staff was very helpful and everyone was friendly. The restaurant food was delicious and I think the fastest service we’ve had across Argentina. We ended up staying longer in Bariloche and we were glad we moved to this property. Supermarket right across the st. Walking distance to the main st. stores, restaurants, desserts, and money changer most importantly bus stops
Also the shower was amazing best one we’ve had around patagonia and breakfast was pretty good. Hoping for some eggs but its seems its not a thing in Argentina.
THIS IS A FANTASTIC HOTEL, IN A PERFECT LOCATION. WITH ONE CRITICAL FAILIURE, AND THIS IS THE BREAKFAST. HOW SUCH A HOTEL CAN SERVE ROTTEN OR UNRIPE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS COLLECTED FROM THE GARBAGE !
AND THE LADY IN CHARGE WAS NOT READY TO PREPARE FOR US ON DAY OF DEPARTURE AN EARLY BRAKFAST FO GO, A THING WE DID NOT COME ACROSS IN ANY OF THE HOTELS WE STAYED IN ARGENTINA.
THE FOOD SERVICE IS THE MAIN BUT GREAT DISADVANTAGE OF THIS SPLENDID HOTEL, AND MUST BE IMPROVED.
The location of the hotel is exceptional with a fantastic view of the Lake due to the fact that is located on a hill, so you can enjoy the panoramic views from many of the rooms and from most of the public areas, like the indoors-pool, the bar, reception, breakfast area.
The staff is absolutely helpful, friendly, professional and hardworking.
Breakfast is very nice, lots of delicious products, catering to international guest plus local very nice items
I've travelled through 85 countries and stayed in more hotels than I can count. This hotel is extremely well run. The gentleman that run it anticipate what you will need before you do.
Extreme kind and fair I can't recommend this place enough.
Very secure parking... Which unfortunately is extremely important in this city that pray on tourist vehicles.
Just a wonderful experience. A huge thank you to the wonderful owner and his staff.
10/10.
My favorite place in Argentina so far. Very welcoming family business and everyone is helping with it. Strolling through the beautiful garden is very grounding. Close to wonderful beaches. Breakfast with fruits from the garden (in season of course) and a quiet, restful night. As if this isn't enough the host even though she must be very busy has a moment or two for an interesting chat. Come here if you can.
Clean hotel with all the essentials. Friendly staff. The resturant including the included morning breakfast was very good. Definitely needs a car. The commute back and forth from Bariloche is a good 45 mins to hour one way and that assuming little traffic. Also getting an Uber or taxi will itself take 20 to 30 mins unless you are lucky. So something to consider.
Firstly, the staff was always ready to help at anytime if needed.
Secondly, the hotel premises as well our bedroom were always clean and neat. I would like to highlight their breakfast - artisan quality bake goods- everything was fresh!
Finally, the view of the lake and mountains while having breakfast is breathtaking!
The people there, my favorite time in Argentina, thanks to the staff guys, malena, sebas, nico, paulie (volunteer) they were amazingly kind people, the hostel is near most of the hiking trails and it's way better that the city hostels.
If you want to feel like home, then go there 😀
The hotel staff person during the night shift was amazing. The room was too hot and opening the windows made the room too noisy. The person at reception provided us with a table fan which was a life saver. The rest of the staff weren't too helpful.
wow what a great location and deal! safe, amazing view, large room with separate bedroom, huge bathroom, nice kitchenette, and living space. Gated hotel with parking, awesome breakfast, and chic modern style. perfect value
Incredible setting right by the lake and the hotel grounds are fantastic. We didn't leave the hotel in 4 days! We stayed in the Moreno wing overlooking the lake and the little marina they have. Really magical!
Breakfast was good and fresh. The guy who took care of it was forthcoming and really quick, attentive and nice. The location of the Hotel is really central, many things are easily reachable from here.
The only plus was the helpful staff and, for my room in particular, a good view of the lake which the majority of the rooms don't have.
Also, the hotel is close to the city centre and tourist office.
Really lovely hotel with lovely lounge bar and pool with incredible views!
We moved from an awful hotel (hotel huemul) and it was a joy to be at this hotel with a lake view from our room :)
The apartment itself was beautiful and clean, the staff were extremely helpful, and the location is perfect for hikes around Llao llao / boat trips from Puerto Natales. I highly recommend!
The hotel was amazing, the pool was so nice and relaxing. Food was good and a good price. The room was 10/10! The staff were so nice, every single one.
