Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to. Large, with fine sand, clean and easy entry into the water. Due to the winds, the area is good for water sports (kite surfing, etc), not so much for swimming, due to the waves. Good position to watch the sun set into the sea.
Great place to chill at a bar nearby the beach, eat ice cream, have dinner.
Tarifa is also very close to Morocco, a short ferry ride away from Tangier. Highly recommend the trip if you have the opportunity.

Great little town, the beach full of kite surfers when we arrived & was a sight to see. Very sweet small old town, clean, cute shops, excellent eateries including Powerhouse bakery & dinner at Axta- superb! Very walkable, views for sunset over the sea, Morocco in the distance. Low key in feb & most enjoyable.

Windy old, small city on the south coast with several ferries each day to Tangier, Morocco. Interesting Old Town with narrow, crooked pedestrian streets. good place for wind surfing, beaches, and dolphin sighting.

Great atmosphere, we were there at Crhistmas time, some bars, restaurants and shops closed.
A lot of families, cool and chill people, caravans, dogs, people doing kite surfing and other water sports.
Good bars and restaurants.

Tarifa is a very unique place with a super relaxed and good vibe. If you want to explore the coast line it's a great base, easy to park cars outside the old town walls. There are various dunes and historic sites to visit within 1 hour of the city as well as view points from various locations with unbeatable views of the coastline and seeing Morocco which is pretty special. For eating, there is an amazing Italian Restaurant highly recommended called La Trattoria. I am Italian and the pasta was very good quality for Spain. There are also lovely restaurants beyond the port along the beach and in the area just outside the old town walls towards this direction. It is easy to walk around the city and there is plenty of shopping in boutique shops as well as surfer/sports shops. Huge amount of water sports activities on offer too.

Nice beach and awesome kite boarders to watch.
Nice beach and awesome kite boarders to watch. Pretty shops and a good walking town, cool places along the beach for a drink or to eat. Ferry terminal in the town. Lots of bars and restaurants. The town has a cool beachy vibe.
The host Alberto was very helpful and available any time. Suggested good restaurants in Old Town, changed check-in and -out times by need and possibilities.
Apartment itself responded to its description, serves all needs. It is 5min to the beach, supermarket is next by, Old Town is 8min to walk. An apartment was clean and equipped with everything necessary.
An apartment has no balcony, but as in Tarifa you wont stay inside anyway and inside is only for sleeping, than it was no problem for us:)
Barry is an exceptional host, very helpful and super communication. Lots of recommendations of where to eat (try Ola Ola for cheap and great food) and visit. The accommodation is charming, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location for the old town and seafront. The roof terrace is great too, a great outside space to chill. We loved Tarifa and really hope to return one day. Of course when we do, we will definitely be staying at Darcilla.
Relatively basic, but like a hotel yet more homely and with extra facilities. It has a really authentic and happy vibe. We didn't do any yoga on the roof, but I liked that it happens. A complimentary breakfast (coffee, cereal & fruit) was a nice added bonus. Right in the old town with boutique/ surfwear shops galore, and bars and restaurants serving til gone midnight. The place had a real buzz. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Fantastic location !
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the bus station and everywhere is easy to reach, the beach ,port and the old town and supermarket are literally minutes away. The team are friendly and very helpful.
Everything was so clean and nothing I noticed was worn or " tired looking"
Breakfast was very nice and I had a great coffee to start my day.
We had to find something at the last minute for 2 nights in Tarifa, and El Asturiano was the perfect combination. Just outside the old town walls (where there are all the restaurants, shops and night pubs in Tarifa), but also outside all of the noise. Room is in perfect condition and good for a comfortable stay. Staff was really good and friendly!
The attention was superb! Super nice people are in charge of this hotel. This is a great contribution to the confort feeling in this hotel.
the place is super clean, the room comfortable, the location is good and there is a parking near by.
For sure me and my family will stay back in this hotel during our next vacations in Tarifa.
Great location in the old town with plenty of places to eat (including the bar/restaurant below which I loved the food), car park close by and was currently free. This hotel should have a better rating than 1*, it's more like a 3*. If I return to Tarifa I will stay again. Tarifa is also a wonderful place.
Location was great, turn right and go to the beach or turn left and go to old town. On site car parking, the breakfast was one of the largest choices we've ever seen, the on site restaurant was great for dinner. Had a great roof top pool and sun deck. This hotel checks off all the boxes.
Fantastic stay at this lovely clean guest house
We had use of the fully fitted kitchen & dining area plus the marvellous roof terrace
The location was terrific right in the old town near bars & restaurants
Host was very responsive and apartment seem to be cleaned, location was awesome just few steps away from old town, those are the only positive things I can say about this place
Amazing room and facilities in a hotel situated in a great location. Walking distance to the beach, to the old town and lots of cute bars and restaurants close by.
Beautiful hotel, clean and easy walk to the Old Town. Great breakfast in downstairs restaurant. Very short walk to the ferry if interested in going to Tangier.
The location is perfect, very close to the beach and the old town. As a bonus you can enjoy the sunsets on the rooftop, would book this apartment anytime again :)
The staff, location and comfort of the room… and of course the wonderful terrace overlooking Tarifa old town.
Great little hotel in the heart of tarifa.
