Alexander Lodge isn't a hotel in the traditional sense. It's unique and beautiful, welcoming and comfortable, but more like a guest house. Actually, it's someone's home, with additional guestrooms that are available to guests when the owner isn't present. There isn't a reception desk, but there are very kind, helpful hosts (Abdallah & Abdelfattah; co-owners, I believe) at hand to meet the needs of their guests. We were the only guests present when we arrived; a family arrived a day or 2 later, but we only encountered them when we were relaxing in the beautiful garden. The only meals we had at the Lodge were breakfasts, and we had the dining room to ourselves. I don't know if other meals can be arranged. With a single dining table (another small table in the corner), I also don't know how multiple guests' meals would be accomodated. Really, it's a lovely place, with a beautiful separate space for watching movies, reading, or playing board games, and there's also a sauna. It's somewhat removed from the center of Siwa, about a 15-20 minute walk to the central "midan" (square), where most restaurants are located. We also easily walked to Amun's Temple and Cleopatra's Bath from the Lodge using GoogleMaps on our phones to guide us. "Tuktuks" (sort of hybrid motorcycle/wagon taxis) can also be called to get around the place, providing really bumpy rides on the mostly rutted roads of Siwa. That's how we got to the Gebel el Mawt and to Fatna's Island to watch the sunset. Abdallah and Abdelfattah will assist with arranging for any necessary transportation to get around and see the area. They are both excellent hosts. They arranged for a 4x4 car to take us out into the desert. We had a wonderful time there, and I'd happily return and stay at Alexander's Lodge (particularly now that I know what to expect).

Everything was good!
The staff was very friendly, the hotel was decorated prettily, with hammocks, etc., and I highly recommend it!
Breakfast is very good, and there is plenty of it to fill you up!
Also, at night there is a campfire and music on the speakers, which makes for a fun time!
Thank you!

I was kindly allowed to do an early check in due to the overnight travel from Cairo and was picked up from the centre.
Amany was great and very friendly but the only english speaker in Seliya.
The place is located away from town centre so it's not affected by its noise , however I didn't sleep for 2 nights in a row because of the hotel's dog barking in the internal garden.. which went on for hours in the middle of the night...
This was the big and only minus for me.
There is not much going on near the hotel but the tuk tuk to town is only 40 Egyptian each way and Amany can arrange food delivery if needed.
The place is really pretty and lots of places in the garden when you can hang out or relax, mosquitos permitting.
Would be nice to see some mosquitos traps so that the time in garden is more enjoyable.

Our time at Cafour House is the number one holiday I've had so far. As we arrived, Abdu and Nora (the owners) were helping and showed us around. Their kindness, communication and hospitality is waaay more than the expected, we really could enjoy the time here without any problem.
We had traditional egyptian breakfast, and also had lunch and dinner here for a very reasonble price. All meals were quite big portions, and tasted very well, thanks to the kitchen staff!:)
The hot spring is very nurturing, you can literally see the stars from the tub at night. One of my favourite.
The location is a bit far from the city centre, but you can experience real silence and peace here without and disturbing sounds.
The centre of Siwa city is a 15 min ride by tuktuk, for a very reasonable price. Abdu and Nora also helped us with the programmes, we tried desert safari (100%worth it) and we visited the Salt Lakes, the Cleopatra Spring, the Oracle Temple, the Amun Temple and watched the sunset on a nice spot with Hakam. He is an excellent tour guide, he knows a lot about this mysterious little city. I can fully recommend to ask him for guiding.
It's hard to summon the whole experience in one single sentence, but i'll try:
I will definitely come back:)
Greetings and hugs from 2 hungarian traveler

A beautiful green lake sits among this ocean of yellow sand, but Siwa has more than just breathtaking sceneries, it carries a culture of its own; local habitants of Siwa actually speaks their own language, which is more like the language spoken by the Berber (desert people from further west), than the Egyptian Arabic spoken in the rest of Egypt.

Visit Siwa if you are looking for history and nature. The Mountain of the dead and The Temple of the Oracle are must see sites. Take the desert safari to explore the desert, ride around sand dunes, see an oasis, visit a hot spring. Nice!

Siwa is on of hidden Gems globally, it takes 7 hours by car from Cairo the Capital, Enjoy the nature in every single thing, starting from morning, enjoy a traditional Bedouin breakfast, Safari in western desert with local guide, sand surfing, and Tea on fire, ending it up with midnight camping on middle of nowhere,
Second day, the salt lakes where it heal your skin burns or scars, do it carefully and don't put your eyes into the water, Never. Ending up in Cleopatra spring to wash up all your sins, ;)
Third day, have a round in old Siwa, enjoying Abdo Rest. eating local food and shop around for pure healthy herbs.

There is little to do here.
There is little to do here. Two mediocre archaeological sites, one spring (Cleopatra pool). Only one restaurant. The fresh water lake has no real access. The salt lake is a long drive to where you can swim in rectangular mined areas.
It might be ok for people who want to hang out in their hotel beside a pool and do nothing. Flies everywhere and bad mosquitoes at dusk and dawn.

Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa.
Everyone deserves a trip to Siwa. I know the road there and back may dissuade you but it is entirely worth your time. In fact, I would dare say you NEED to come here. Here you will experience a different culture than the hustle and bustle of Cairo and Luxor. There is plenty going on here but it is much less crowded and much more peaceful. The Siwa Salt Lakes are a must-see experience. There is something almost other-worldly in the air here, especially coming from the busy streets of more densely populated Egyptian cities. Just a few days here in the middle of your trip and you will feel ready to tackle the rest of your Egyptian cities. Missing this place and all the tuktuk rides so much!
The hotel was absolutely amazing with customer service! Any requests we had, they accommodated without hesitation, and they had special events in the Bedouin lounge at night. Yousef, the front desk man, was exceptional and his customer service skills are great. He was honest and straightforward with us regarding any questions, and we were very comfortable.
The resort is beautiful for photos and has a nice atmosphere.
The hotel can arrange a driver for you to go anywhere and we will definitely stay there again!
A very special and wonderful hotel in the sense of the word as it is on a completely independent island in the salty Siwa Lake and consists of chalets completely separated from each other
The island is located on the middle of a small lake, or is it the water of a large water like the swimming pool and the water out of the ground, and it's a fresh and clean water
For the hotel and the standard of the rooms it is not very luxurious but somewhat primitive to suit the nature around it is wonderful anyway
The place is super cozy and full of personality! Location is perfect with an amazing view from the terrace, Nalnshal is very organized and clean. No air condition but no need, the fan worked well.
Amer is there to help with everything, smiling and making delicious juices and having nice chats anytime. You even can have a great massage if you need! We also met the owners, a super friendly couple. Strongly recommend! I will never forget Siwa and the Nalnshal house. :)
This was the ideal spot for me to stay in Siwa Oasis. It’s location right in near the center of town makes everything easily accessible by foot and if you want to travel somewhere a bit off the beaten track it’s easy to hop on cheap transport right outside. The facility is clean and a great value. The owners and employees are extremely friendly and hospitable and treat all newcomers as friends. I would definitely stay here again.
What a great place to stay. Siwa is a very hard city to get to, but once there, you will love its people and sights. We were lucky to stay at this hotel; they were so helpful, setting up all activities we requested and always there for us. While its location is removed from the city itself, it is very easy to get a toktok to drive you around. I highly recommend this place, you will love it.
This is the place to stay in Siwa!!
This place is amazing and the hosts are fantastic, they will be committed to give you the best time you can have !!
The place is very close to the lake, in the middle of nature, very clean and comfortable, and with the hot natural spa too!!
Perfect place to stay highly recommended!!
The best thing in the hotel, it was the amazing view of the whole Siwa Oasis form the roof (breakfast place also). The owner of the hotel (his name Ali) was friendly and we have amazing conversation with him. I will suggest the upcoming guest to plan the safari trip with Ali since you will have fantastic time.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful to arrange visits or activities around Siwa during our stay. We had dinner there every night and the food was simple but really good. The location, a little outside of Siwa city centre, makes it very quiet and there are always tuktuk drivers around to move easily.
This hotel has great facilities. It really is so pretty and the staff helped me out a lot. so nice, thanks again. breakfast was good. You can walk into town. It is not super close but manageable. I preferred to stay here with a nice set-up instead of one of the smaller, more central places.
Very quite place, the staff super friendly, mr. Ali was taking care of me like family, people of siwa are so friendly and generous. I really enjoyed the stay and serenity 😌 something i was looking for long time especially with my crowded busy city life
Emad was so incredibly kind and accommodating, we had such a lovely time in Siwa because of him. The property is located downtown (7 minute walk from the bus station), but has the feel of staying in a camp which was really nice.
One comes to Siwa to enjoy the splendid isolation of the oasis and the desert and this property combines both as well as a respect to the Siwan tradition regarding achitectural features , decoration etc
Siwa Shali Resort is one of the most beautiful place in siwa terms of reception, hospitality, quality and psychological comfort and invite every one to visit this HOTEL itis a wonderful place
We stood in 4 different places while in Egypt and this hotel was one of the best ones. Very beautiful aesthetic, host allowed us to check in early. Great value
A good new hotel, probably one of the best in Siwa, because it’s new. A little away from the noise of the city center. The service staff is trying very hard.
Mohammed is the best man I’ve ever met in Egypt. He tried his best to response my request, solve my problems. Thanks to him, my trip in Siwa feel great.
