Great restaurant's to take your pick from. A really lovely pub (The Australia) highly recommend and the Snowdonia national park on your doorstep . you can also take advantage of the main line train to do large sections of the Wales coastal path getting off and walking a section and on again at different stations, Note, please tell the conductor witch station you want to get off at as the train doesn't stop automatically at all stations.
Welsh coastal path is stunning in and around porthmadog well worth walking.

We primarily chose this hotel so that we could spend time in Port Meirion village.
We did go into Porthmadog and took a ride on the steam train. There are shops and cafes in Porthmadog but we dis not visit them.

Porthmadog is the perfect place to stay when visiting Portmerion, or if walking and exploring the area. It does have a pretty harbour/marina. There are plenty of choices for eating out. Plus the heritage railway is a short walk.

Beautiful town and surrounded by lots to do and good amenities . We travelled to Ffestiniog to get train to llandudno, which was a lovely journey and a 1/ 5 of price of heritage train trips. We will definitely be going back to stay again..
Excellent service and great host's. Perfect location for town. Plenty of parking available. The breakfast selection was ideal with everything you could possibly want. I had the full English that was cooked to perfection. We stayed in room 8 the large double room that was spotlessly clean with everything you needed for a relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel that I will book again the next time I am in that area. Thanks again to the great host's.
Tasteful and stylish smart decor, comfortable beds and lounge furniture and a well equipped kitchen. Plus a powerful large walk in shower. It was lovely to be able to see the Porthmadog harbour and all the comings and goings through the patio doors and from the balcony deck. Quiet area, beautiful location. We went crabbing from outside the front of the apartment over the harbour wall. Fantastic property!
We stayed in one of the woodland escape rooms these are self contained studios in a beautiful setting. The bed was comfortable loved the massive bathroom. We ate in the hotel and it was very nice.A big shout out for the staff who worked so hard and were so obliging despite being, as many hospitality places, are short staffed.
The setting is gorgeous and yet near to all of the delights of north Wales
Beautiful historic stone cottage on the waterfront - short flat walk into town with many good shops, cafes & eateries. Porthmadog is a good central base for exploring the stunning scenery, towns and villages of North Wales, Snowdonia and Anglesey.
The 2 parking spaces are a blessing and
the owner responded very quickly to our broadband problem caused by Storm Arwen.
Very good location in the center of porthmadog. Easy access to town, shops, pubs, port... But can be challenging for elderly due to position on hill.
Big house, very well equipped kitchen, clean and modern bathrooms. New comfortable mattresses. Very nice area for holiday of any category. Host very helpful, good communication.
Dinner was delicious, very few tables (wasn't high season though) so definitely book in advance. Comfortable rooms, very good size, and a very nice shower/bathroom area. Looked like it would have been fun to stay in one of their holiday lets/camping areas too. A little pricey, but it was great for the location we wanted
I stayed in Porthmadog and took a day trip to Portmeirion. My stay here was cozy and had everything for a comfortable stay. The free breakfast was amazing and everyone at the hotel was attentive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend Yr Hen Fecws to anyone traveling to or through Porthmadog.
Location was great, very pretty area and quiet. Back patio was amazing, well done on renovations. Dinner was delicious and not overpriced. Breakfast was great, lots of food and fresh!
Parking was available outside free of charge - amazing!
All staff were helpful and friendly!
Brilliant location. Short walk into Porthmadog and Aldi across the road, but also on a circular walking route (although I only realised when I came out near the property half way round!). Comfortable and clean.
The rooms were large and comfortable. Make dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant in the village and select the 9 course chefs choice. It is an amazing variety of culinary delights!
Lovely setting in a little square with hotel owning most of it. Nice bar restaurant area and meal was nice. Room was huge with quirky furniture and nice en-suite with jacuzzi tub
We loved how cleaned the caravan was, having all everyday essentials at hand. Lovely area made use of all amenities. Would definitely like to stay again.
