Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.
The hotel room was spotless. A bit tight on the teabags & milk, we had to keep asking for more to make a cup of tea. The position of the hotel was perfect, the beach, shops & pubs/cafes were just a 5 minute walk away.
The bar upstairs was really nice, all the staff were friendly except for the guy on reception when we went to check out on Saturday morning, he was quite rude which my friend & I felt was bad, especially when greeting people at reception, it’s important to be friendly & approachable but this guy was certainly not! The bar staff were lovely though, very warm and friendly. We didn’t eat at the hotel as it was a bit expensive, so we went into town.

Bournemouth town centre much like any other town high street with closed, empty shops and no soul.
Some of the area around Boscombe is very rough looking but we didn't feel unsafe
Weekend vibe away helped by actually seeing sunshine rather than the rain and thunderstorms we left at home :)

Alum chime is a hilly area not far from the sea front and town centres in a car.
Lovely green spaces and garden walks.
Lots of multi story car parks £3.00 per hour.
sandy beach and pier
The owners are lovely and very helpful. Located one street back from the beach and within walking distance from Bournemouth pier and centre.
The room, whilst very basic, was clean and tidy and had all we needed for our short stay.
Plenty of tea and coffee etc, comfortable double bed, free WiFi and small TV.
Small en suite bathroom with towels provided and a nice hot shower..
This is an 'Old school' hotel with the values and courtesy to match.
Great to see .
Will definitely use again.
Thank you.
Gary.
A great place to stay..a lovely old building, very well decorated and spotlessly clean. We were given a suite which was fabulous and it was great value for money. Plenty of parking spaces and just a short walk to the beachfront. We had breakfast at the sister hotel, the Derby Manor and that too was one of the best we have had. There was plenty of choice and it was all freshly cooked. It far exceeded our expectations. Definitely will stay there again when next in Bournemouth.
I was impressed with everything. Staff were amazing and the breakfast was run very efficiently. The room was clean and comfortable. Location was also perfect. Opposite shopping and cinema and a short walk to the beach and pier. Stayed at few places in Bournemouth as visit my daughter and I would certainly stay here again. Unfortunately all hotels are expensive around the area but this was one of the cheaper options but certainly didn’t feel I was in a cheap hotel.
Really lovely staff and very helpful. I like all the Britannia hotels.
Had not got a room for the next night – so stayed at the Royal Bath hotel -which also is very good and a lovely staff and very helpful too. I asked for a single room and was given a very comfortable double room in both hotels. I have a mobility scooter and it was easy to be able to charge it up each night .I come to Bournemouth quite often and usually stay in a Britannia hotel.
Everything was nice n clean. Bus stop just outside the building. Co op down the flat. Great location. Close from the town, station n beach too.. There is no staff as its not a Hotel. It's just a family run business. Apartment is nice n spacious. There's only 1 double size bed in the bedroom. And the other is sofa cum bed..thats a king size.. in the living room. The apartment has washing machine n a drier too.. thats a plus point I could say.
The hotel is located about 5 mins walk from the beach. The room was of a good size. We never added breakfast to our booking because of the £15.95 charge per person. We thought the car park was very expensive regardless of location. We were charged £15 per night and even struggled to find space to park the car properly.
Overall the facility were good and we hope to stay again when we return to Bournemouth.
good distinction from the beach and city centre. breakfast was excellent- full English breakfast buffet, really nice. we would like to say Thank you for the girl on reception. the was so helpful and kind. ( we don’t know her name but we know she is from Brazil). i booked wrong days and notice about it when arrived but she sorted the problem. when I going to Bournemouth I will stay the same hotel again.
Large ensuite room with sea view was dated but spotlessly clean, facilities included a coffee pod machine, fridge and safe which was a bonus. Located close to the town and seafront with convenient parking in BIC centre, the Crab restaurant which is part of the hotel is excellent, as was the breakfast. All staff members were very polite and helpful, this is now becoming a rare feature.
Easily the best hotel that I have stayed in when I visit Bournemouth and I've stayed in quite a few different hotels over the last few months. Great value for money, large rooms, really comfortable beds and facilities. A five minute walk from the town centre and the beach. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I've stayed here twice and will be booking again.
Great location in town centre, you’ll be just steps away from the square, beach, restaurants, cinema. I think the hotel is best suited for guests coming to Bournemouth to party. There is a nice cocktail bar and night club in the premises and it can get pretty loud (of which I was warned about beforehand). Personally I wasn’t too bothered by the noise.
This place isn’t the Ritz obviously, but it’s very clean, decent sized room, helpful staff, easy check in and out. It’s an absolute bargain, I’ve stayed in much more expensive hotels in Bournemouth and they weren’t as nice. Definitely recommend, just not for your honeymoon!
Good selection of hot and cold food.
Good service - reception, bar, restaurants, rooms.
Location ideal for our needs.
Close to Chines and beach.no
Good walk to Bournemouth and pier.
Not necessarily under the control of hotel but good hotel guests - like minded people
Room was good size, clean and has air conditioned (which is rare in the uk but it helped us a lot as we were travelling on one of the hottest days in 2023. Reception was friendly and professional. Hotel is very close to beach 4 minutes walking
The value for money was fantastic and it was a 5 min walk from the seafront. My main reason was to go to a gig at the Bournemouth international centre. I will definitely use this hotel again as it Ofers excellent value for money.
Ideal location to walk along the beach or hop on the little train. Hotel is very pleasant, rooms are slightly dated but it's very clean and the staff were great. Would definitely come again.
Location as it was very near to beach - 3~4 mins walk
Flat itself as it was very decorative and fews inhouse games
Value for money as it was cheaper than other available hotels
It's very close to beach and town centre with a variety of shops nearby.. it's's very quiet and a safe location from where you can comfortably discover Bournemouth.
