Nothing was to like about any of the experience. Put in a room that was not what we booked and paid extra for a balcony. And when I went to reception to question the reason and why we paid for something that we did not have another guest was complaining about exactly the same thing and the reception kept making excuses.

Always a favourite after a six-hour drive from Gold Coast to Sydney. Love sitting on the deck by the river watching the boats, sunset and dolphins.

Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Call a place paradise and kiss it goodbye. PMQ case in point
Pros
- The beaches would be among the best in the world.
- Greenery
- Nature attractions/urban wildlife
- Improvements on waterfront world class
- Beach walkway from Town to Lighthouse beach amazing.
Cons
- Roads are simply appalling in many places, just pothole covers holding hands and a should be a real embarrassment to local council, though looks in places they have started fixing the problem
- High elderly and low socio-economic population, kind of depressing local population
- Population/development explosion, high rents and tariffs
- Lots of hoons and bogans, exercise vigilance late at night
- Increasingly visible homeless problem
- Town is over promoted and exploited, certainly not a place to "get away from it all" anymore, its got plenty of what you came to escape, best to come outside of public and school holidays, always some pesky "festival" or event going on blocking roads and causing chaos
- Not a quaint fishing/holiday destination anymore
- If you strike a "Red Weed" season on your holiday, any beach-river activities are ruined.
-Service in most establishments is terrible

Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant.
Happy and helpful staff at motel and EI restaurant. The comfiest bed 🫠 you could ask for and walking distance to river, beach, restaurants and shopping centre. Given Free coffees upon book in for breakfast was a lovely bonus. 😊
Only disappointment was upgraded to balcony for the treat of the view of the river as shown in picture. We had a view of a car park. 😟

The Bowling Club was located at the back of the apartment building and only a short stroll away. Perfect place for dinner. Also love the restaurant at Westport for dinner. We have been there numerous times and never disappointed.
We have stayed in PM numerous times and always love coming back. Great accommodation, walks, beach and cafes. The Sea Acres Rainforest is definitely worth a visit and the food at the Cafe is lovely.

Nice Getaway.
Nice Getaway.
You can do Jet Ski at $240 per hour, and can swap drivers.
Sea Plane ride was good, but not comfortable.
Book a day in advance else you have to come back next day.
One thing is food is expensive in the place.

Vibrant town centre with lots of restaurants and harbour/...
Vibrant town centre with lots of restaurants and harbour/ estuary views. Great beaches and walks up to the lighthouse at Tacking Point. Must-do staging point if travelling by car between Brisbane and Sydney. Glad we stayed 2 nights rather than 1.
The cheap buffet breakfast was exceptional, the cleaners and staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. They maintained our room daily which made our stay wonderful.
Rydges is in the heart of Port Macq and prime location to everything. I will definitely be returning.
The heated pool and spa was the best and it’s open til late for a nice relaxing swim before bed.
Convenient drive to beaches and town, though far more responsive Flynn's Beach accommodation is available slightly cheaper one street away at a higher standard offering much more responsiveness to messages and phone calls re: check-in, key collection questions we had, means I'd chose them over this accommodation next time I'm in Port Macquarie, once a month.
We were surprised that the apartment was massive very spacious, everything was perfect, the balcony was a place my wife and I frequently used for meals the view was spectacular , Sandcastle Apartments is one accommodation place that should be on your list when in Port Macquarie.
Great location. Straight across from the beach and easy walk down town to restaurants and shops. It was so good to find a hotel that is doggy friendly too. It was the biggest reason we chose to stay at Ibis Styles as they allowed our pet to stay with us as well.
Great motel that is SOOO much nicer than the hotels. Clearly had been renovated recently. Lovely room with a brand new bathroom and mini kitchenette. Parking onsite which was very easy. Short drive or 15 mins walk into the centre of Port Macquarie
Absolutely everything, extremely clean, modern, comfortable, we have been travelling for a few months here and overseas. This place is 5 star. Dare I say too cheap! Many thanks if we pass through again, top of our list.
The hot shower and the water pressure. Many hotels have water savers and this ruins a great evening shower. Not at Ocean Breeze. Hot water was hot and the pressure was like a massage. Very strong.
The apartment was very well equipped and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The loction of the apartments was ideal for exploring the heart of the town.
