There was nothing about this Accomodation that made me feel that this was a special experience. An ordinary space.

There was no flat sheet on the bed. It was sweltering hot and a duvet!! I did not sleep. There was no safe in the room for valuables. I wanted to open the window as it was so hot, but I was not sure on the security! I felt I was in a box.

Very mediocre. Nothing special. The breakfast was fine. The welcoming was nice, but a bit flustered as I had been clear in my request that it was a special occasion. And there was nothing special.

Just a few small fixes in the room would have made it feel a bit more fresh (like the window seals, the old decorations)

Sweet, homey and super friendly. Very good location

Nothing really - perhaps there could have been more breakfast options.

I had a lovely time at the guest house. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are really nicely done. It felt like being at home while traveling :-)

    all good

Perfect location in the city of Cape Town within walking distance from restaurants but in a quiet street. The staff were welcoming and the booking in efficient. The house is old and has character. I think some of the rooms may be a little dark but the room I had at the front of the house on the second floor had a door to the balcony and windows (Buffalo Room). I think I would try to book that room again as it was lovely. I had a good 2 nights there!

    Nothing that is worth mentioning.

Ideally located close to an abundance of shops and eating places and well served by Uber travel this guest House provides a very warm welcome to Capetown. The small staff team is friendly, courteous and helpful and they go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Breakfast is mainly a self service process but the home made breads and eggs to order afford an excellent healthy start to each day. It will be my revisit list on my next trip to Capetown.

There were just minor things: - Accommodation was relatively expensive (but still alright) - Bathroom door would better fit in a western saloon - Some mountings in the bathroom were loose

    - Guesthouse ist located in a quiet street, close to Kloof Street (it is a safe area) - Cozy room, stylish bathroom, nice breakfast area, even with a little garden - Breakfast was very good (with home made bread) - Staff was absolutely lovely

What you should know is that the bathroom has not a separating door.

Number5 Guesthouse was a great accomodation in cape town. We felt save and comfortable. Sylvie and Sandra took care of us and had answers to all our questions. The rooms and the whole accomodation were very clean and the breakfast was simple but very good. Sandra had a self made surprise ( banana muffins, crepes,...) every day :)

Sylvie and Tom were truly exceptional hosts. They were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were readily available to answer any questions, provide recommendations, and offer assistance whenever needed. Their genuine care for their guests made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean and spacious, offering a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The attention to detail in the room decor was evident, creating an ambiance that was both stylish and comfortable. The excellent shower—hot water, great water pressure were refreshing after a day of exploring the city. The breakfast was a delight. The pancakes were a particular favorite. It was the perfect way to start the day before venturing out to explore Cape Town. Parking was available in the street near the guesthouse, and we had no trouble finding a spot during our stay. The neighborhood felt safe and secure, with its proximity to bars and restaurants adding to the convenience and enjoyment of our visit. We felt comfortable walking around, both during the day and in the evening. One tip we received from Sylvie was to use Uber in Cape Town. This turned out to be a fantastic recommendation, as it made getting around the city hassle-free and convenient. It saved us time and ensured that we could explore the various attractions without worrying about transportation logistics. We highly recommend Number 5 Guesthouse to anyone visiting Cape Town and looking for a wonderful place to stay.

We spent our first days in South Africa at Number5 Guesthouse and we really enjoyed our stay - so we came back for the last few days at the end of our trip. First of all Sylvie and the rest of the team do a really good job. Thanks again for having us! Our Room was very clean and comfy, breakfast was tasty, central location and quiet area at the same time.

It got pretty hot in the middle of the night when electric load shedding occurred, but that is the government’s fault, not the fault of the guest house.

This is a welcoming little guesthouse on a pretty street in Gardens, with Table Mountain looming over it in the background. The single room was comfortable. The toilet and shower are right in the room, in individual nooks with accordion pocket doors should you need to close them. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, with crepes, fresh bread, and freshly squeezed orange juice. It was easy cheap to Uber around the area and Sylvie and the rest of the staff were fantastic and very helpful.

The only downside was the window for our room was facing a road which wasn’t too busy but it was a little noisy when vehicles went past at speed

The staff were wonderful and super helpful with recommendations. Breakfast was great and there was a good variety, comfy room and nice communal areas for relaxing

The only thing is the creaky floor in my room, which doesn’t help if you’re wanting discreet intercourse (only kidding), but seriously it’s all part of the character of the building.

The breakfast is amazing! freshly made fruit salads with berries and kiwi fruit and mango, as well as espresso coffee, pancakes, eggs if you like, and yoghurt. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is excellent - right below Table Mountain and close to great restaurants, bars and cafes.

Next time I will ask for a room on the other side. I forgot how windy Cape Town can be and it was blowing straight into my window. Take earplugs just in case!

Sylvie, the manager was extremely friendly and speaks French so we had a really nice chat. She prepared a special breakfast for me as there were no other guests that morning. My son joined me in the morning and she very kindly offered him a coffee and we carried on with our chat.
