Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe did struggle to get some hot water for a morning shower but we got there eventually.
The location worked well for us as we had to pass most of the sights we wanted to see to get there. There were certainly plenty of places to eat around the area and a supermarket was close by also. The room was a great size for 2 people, well decorated and clean. The breakfast in the morning was great and set us up for the day. Plenty of fresh fruit, omelette, cheese, tomato and cucumber, fresh bread and jam. The coffee was lovely and we were given bottles of water too. Very filling.

GermanyRoom was rather small which made juggling with the luggage challenging at times. Never could get hot water from the shower, so quickly deferred showering until the next stop. There may have been a parking lot connected with the hotel, but I ended up just parking in front of the entrance.
Hotel was easy to find using Google Maps after a lengthy drive from Skopje airport in Macedonia. There were numerous eating opportunities within a five-minute walk, as well as a full-service supermarket for traveling supplies.

United StatesThe lighting in the room was too dark. The mothballs in the sink had a smell that was too strong.
The location was great, within walking distance to the main city center attractions and many shops/ restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the hot water was great. The dining area is cozy and the staff is friendly.

United StatesAn issue for the whole of Kosova is smoking. I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke, so that's the only reason I give the property a 9 out of 10. Often Hotel Kika will leave the big front door open, which helps with good ventilation, but at night sometimes between (10pm-11pm) the smoking in the lobby would bother me just a bit. It wasn't enough to cause me to want to change hotels, and I didn't say anything to the management about it. But I hope as Kosovo develops, they will take anti-smoking initiatives to heart for everyone's comfort and health. Also, the bathroom (which is very small) had a slight musty smell, but it was very clean. I just chalked this up to a different culture. Again, the room was very clean and nice, so really not an issue. Just be aware!
The hotel had perhaps four to six rooms in total, so it was a cozy place to stay for a week of work. I was only in the hotel to sleep -- most days, I was out by 7am and back around 11 pm. The hotel says the breakfast is from 8am-10am, but the manager (who's name I sadly cannot recall!) would see me at 6:30 each morning and say "Coffee?" ... if I said yes (and definitely you should say yes) then he made a whole breakfast for me. It was such a terrific way to start the day. Hotel Kika is just a 1 minute walk to Skanderbeg Square, which is the northern terminus of Mother Theresa Boulevard, which is a wonderful pedestrian-only zone that is lively every day (especially weekends). The alley access from Hotel Kika might seem a little sketchy to an American, but it is perfectly safe. I also used the parking lot directly across from Hotel Kika for my rental car the entire week. It was incredibly convenient! There is no charge on weekends, and the daily rate is only about 1.30 euros. It can be very hard to find a space during the workday, though, so plan accordingly. I was always back after 6pm, so never had trouble finding a space.

United KingdomNo lift available, steep stairs, rooms not cleaned, had to ask for loo roll and towels but same given immediately on request. Staff were pleasant. The girls room a double was very small and hot, air conditioning not very good at all. They don’t have a card machine you must pay in cash
The location was good, our triple room with balcony was spacious, fairly clean, comfortable enough bed. The balcony was large plenty of room for family and friends for a few drinks before going out. Clean towels on request, shower gel and hair dryer provided. Fridge in room for cool drinks. We enjoyed our stay. They phoned a return taxi to the airport for us which was half the price on the one we arrived in.
