Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe place was not run very well. I arrived 1.5 before the 2pm check-in, and my room wasn’t ready. Absolutely no problem with that. I went to lunch, walked around a bit and came back to the hotel at 2:30. The room still wasn’t ready. Okay. I sit down for about 20-30 minutes and I’m finally able to get into the room. I was told someone would bring my bags up. After 45 minutes I went and got them myself (which I would have happily done when the room was ready if they hadn’t assured me someone would bring them to me). The breakfast buffet was just okay (hell, it’s breakfast. I’m not too partícula) but the coffees were ridiculously small and were gone in two sips (we’ll, okay, two gulps). In a country that prides itself on its coffee, why the stingy sizes? I ended up going to the Highlander Coffee shop a few doors down to get my fix. It just didn’t make any sense to me.
The location was great

AustraliaI did ask for a softer pillow, all mattresses and pillows are hard as rocks in south east Asia, unfortunately the manager just said all the pillows the same, without really trying to find one. The room could do with a few little improvements that wouldn’t cost much, some new lamps by the bed and lanterns above the bar would freshen it up a bit.
Central to the night markets and across from the river .. just a quick walk old Hoi A town.. while also being quiet. The rooms are spacious.

AustraliaNeeds a bit of an update perhaps on comfortable beds and maintenance program.
The location was brilliant opposite the river in the old quarter. The staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean, large and look lovely. The beds could have been more comfortable but were comfortable enough. The rain shower didn't work although the other part of the shower did.

VietnamDrainage in the bathtub - slow drain No shower curtain in the bathtub - water went everywhere on the floor :( No luggage rack or hangers in the room - we managed without asking but I'm sure if we did, they would have provided Super noisy in the mornings with school kids. busses and other noises - it definitely broke my sleep in the morning. Other than that, the place is lovely, comfortable and spacious.
Location - Absolutely amazing Breakfast - so so for a vegetarian Room - room was super spacious and had a large balcony (with lots of plants!!) which we really liked.

United KingdomWe arrived late at night (as expected). There appeared to be no one on reception. We discovered a guy asleep on one of the sofas. When we managed to wake him up we discovered he had a security guard uniform on (fortunately there doesn't appear to be a crime problem in Hoi An). He didn't speak English but produced a key card for our room..... Which didn't work. We then had to wait for someone to come and reprogram the key. Other than that we had a good stay and would stay there again. The 'security guard' also serves breakfast and is a lovely guy.
Right in the heart of the action in Hoi An. Outside the hotel at night the place is heaving. But the rooms are at the back of the hotel and surprisingly quite at night. Good breakfast and big rooms.

MalaysiaWe booked a room with a Garden view. On arrival, they gave us a room without windows explaining that the info in Booking.com is not updated after covid. Since we wanted a window for air, we have to upgrade with extra payment to an available room next to a small pool which can be noisy. We felt that the management should not have charged us for an upgrade.
good location in old town right next to the main river front. Friendly staff. Easy access to food and transport. Hoi An is a good experience. Free bicycle rental. Breakfast was reasonable. Generally quiet if your room is not next to pool

Czech RepublicThe coffee (at breakfast) was special (and we had a hard time getting used to it), but nothing do diminish our experience. Some of the equipment did not work fully (jacuzzi bathtub), but nothing negatively affecting us.
The hotel has an excellent location, just opposite the old town. The staff (especially the GM) was very helpful, which we appreciated. The room was spacious, with an equally spacious bathroom. The breakfast was good, with a wide selection of local foods (including fresh fruit).

United StatesHoi An itself has changed post-covid. Far too many tourists, streets overcrowded, a crazy volume of vendors and competing bars. Some very noisy bars adjoining this property though thankfully the insulation seems great. Ask for a room at the back. Note: a 3-bedroom apartment is really a large open-plan unit. Great for a family but you will not have individual privacy.
A charming, endearing hotel with lovely staff in a super-convenient location just over the bridge from the old town. The property is very traditional, an older building in a very Vietnamese style. Stay there if you want to experience Vietnamese culture, right down to the ca phe phin drip coffee and pho at breakfast (which is generous and lovely!). The rooms are simply appointed with modifications that tick the boxes on mod cons e.g. shower (functional, but not western-style accommodation). Cleaning staff does a fantastic job and they replenish water & towels generously. Front-desk team is helpful, resourceful and always friendly. Pool is lovely if small. Could not ask for more!

AustraliaThe bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood. The electricity doesn't keep running when you're not in you're room and due to the room size it takes ages to cool down after returning from a hot day out.
The property was immaculate and the staff were all friendly and attentative. The rooms were huge.

United StatesThe family suite was fine but the room for 2 persons had very tight space between the wall and the foot of the bed making it difficult to get to the other side of the bed. The free bicycles had bad brakes and were of poor quality. I would rather pay extra for decent bicycles.
