Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe hot water ran out after 2 mins in the shower. The WIFI was some of the worst we have encountered over 11 months of travel.
Very comfortable bed and nice duvet. The aircon worked well and the room was spacious and cleaned everyday with replacement towels daily. Great location right in the centre of the old quarter.

Italy- pillows are too thin
- Location super central just 4 mins walking from the lake and 6 mins walking from beer street. - friendliness of the staff working at the reception. We left our bags and they took care of it for half a day even though we had checked out from the hotel few days before. - Bathroom is spacious with shower separate. - Lift to get to the rooms (not common in old quarter).

CanadaIf there was any downside, our room’s window didn’t face outside. It opened to an interior skylight area that spanned all the floors to the roof. At first this was off putting, but if you’re staying in the Old Quarter, it’s very busy, very bustling outside your door from about 7:30am to 10pm. So in the end we were fine with it. It made the room a quiet sanctuary from the outside world, and quiet for sleeping.
Excellent location, walking distance from the pretty Hoan Kem lake area. Many good food options on the same street, including the small mom & pop food stalls, and also the more western friendly Vietnamese restaurants. A convenience store on this street as well, and walking distance to the 24 hr Circle K. Best coffee I had in Hanoi was just around the corner, 1 min walk. Good Banh Mi right on the corner too. Pizza place just a minute walk too. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Each spoke pretty good English. Check in and check out were seamless. The property was very clean, and our rooms made up every day. Our bathroom was nice, and had a separate shower (not the one room wet bath you often find in Asia). Mini fridge in the room and a kettle, tea and water bottles were complimentary. Also there’s an elevator here. AC in the room worked well. We found this hotel very quiet, it was good for sleeping.

South KoreaRoom could have been cleaner - but not a big deal.
It was in a good location in the Old Quarter. They had all the amenities necessary. We only stayed for one night but were treated well by staff. Fine for a shorter stay!

SloveniaWe arrived at night and we had some problems when locating the hotel. There is only a door on the street and then a corridor leads inside to the reception.
The Hotel is located in the old quarter of Hanoi, 10 min walk to Food Street and 5 min to the lake. The staff was very friendly. We could check in late and leave our luggage there after check out. Perfectly situated for our bus connection in the Old Quarter. The complimentary coffee/tea and biscuits were a nice surprise. There is also a nice massage studio nearby.

SingaporeThere were termites on the door frame, very close to the table. The bed mattress was sunken on the left.
Located conveniently near the lake and to the bus-stop. Room was spacious. Bed was comfy except for the sunken section. Toilet has hot water.

ItalyI didn't expect the room to not have windows looking outside. To be honest, it's a problem of many Hanoi hotels, and if you don't expect it it's quite a shock.
The position is great and central, so that really helps to get everywhere. The staff was quite helpful, I was looking for a specific food and they even took me to the nearest place!

AustraliaA discount for lengthier stays would be a bonus.
The staff was great; especially Huyen (Yen) with whom I already telephoned from Australia to verify the twin room. She also organized the shuttle bus to Halong Bay and warned us of the change in pick up location. The complimentary coffee/tea and Marie biscuits were a nice touch. The room was reasonably quiet considering there was a nightclub nearby. Good location with most attractions within walking distance.

RomaniaThe room is a bit old, but in a decent shape. No outside window, just one towards other rooms but with a privacy wall. So you can never the weather haha. Ac working well, but wifi is sometimes loosing the connection. Not a big problem if you are not doing video calls or work that requires stable internet. There is a slight damp smell that you notice only when you enter the room. But don't seem to be noticeable when in the room for long time.
I had the superior double room: quite small, but if you solo travel is quite enough. Bathroom is decent sized. Very clean! Housekeeping coming to clean every day. Location is very good, close to the lake. You can pay for the room by card. Very nice staff! It's a pretty good option for a budget stay, but mostly for solo l would say (for this room size). 🙋🏻♀️ My travel tips & recommendations on insta: deea_journey
