Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BarbadosThough mostly positives, I find the wifi was a bit blotchy and had to re-connect a few times, also couldn't understand the reason for scanning your passport on arrival, I've been to many countries, multiple hotel stays around the world...I've never experienced anything like it and may also be with held and put in a safe, I kindly ask for mine back with no issues.
This was my second stay within a week, but a different category room, it was spacious, clean and comfortable with beautiful ocean and pool views, the staff was ever so accommodating..special mentioned of Angie the senior receptionist with her lovely smile and pleasant personality who went the extra mile to ensure my reservation was fully confirmed after a hiccup in the system, it meant a great deal to me, Desiree the bar supervisor who was always engaging, the location of the property can't be beat as it's directly on the beach with calm waters to take a dip, and if you're also lucky like I was to witness the fishermen pull up on the shore to deliver fresh catch of the day, in this area of Villa there's lots of restaurants/bars to choose from most on the oceanfront, public transportation is consistently on the move with a 25 minutes drive into Kingstown, the airport a 20 minutes drive away towards the windward side, all sums up a relatively lovely holiday...most definitely looking forward to the next visit.

BarbadosNothing...not one complaint... and that says a lot as I'm very particular about everything
My stay at the hotel, was a comforting and lovely one, nice well maintained property with beautiful gardens, rooms nicely appointed...with plush double beds and nice comfortable linens, bathroom is spacious, and a nice amount of storage space in the room...a mini fridge, coffee and tea station with a kettle, along with complimentary bottled water was all an added bonus, all rooms it seems comes with a patio/balcony...so nice to relax on the outside, the staff was very accommodating, helpful and welcoming, it's on the beachfront so beautiful sunrise and sunsets...lounging around by the pool while taking in the views of the ocean all made for a wonderful stay, so its name fits it perfectly...definitely will return

CanadaThe bed was super soft which may not be the best for everyone. I slept fine. The water pressure for the shower was a little weak and the temperature gauge was finicky. A screen on the patio door would have been a bonus. Only once or twice did a mosquito sneak in during the 8 days we stayed. We didn't employ the air-conditioner but it was working fine. A few more cushions for the lounge chairs would have been good. We only went without a cushion once. This is not a hotel issue, but a plea to my fellow tourists; please take care to properly return you glass bottles and caps. There was an excess of broken glass and bottle caps on the beach.
The people of Saint Vincent are absolutely wonderful, polite, relaxed, sincere and friendly. The beach was right at our doorstep. The grounds were lush, spotless and well maintained. Easy access to everything right off of our patio door. It was quiet at night and in the morning. The fresh breeze off the ocean was constant. The oversized wicker lounge chairs around the pool and patio area were very nice

CanadaLoud music late into the night for an event on the Saturday of our stay, at the hotel (despite the hotel denying the existence of the wedding that night following a noise complaint. I wasn't looking for a refund, just for a potential change in policy). Couldn't sleep that night.
Setting is idyllic, the staff are incredible and accomodating. Welcoming and friendly.

CanadaThe facility requires investment and upgrades. Hopefully, like neighbouring BeachCombers, Sunset Shores will receive required investment. Unfortunately, the hotel books events with loud music playing well into the night (midnight), so the windows and walls actually shake. This is an issue not with Sunset Shores in particular, but a lack of event venues in the country.
Incredible setting, beautiful location. Waves lap on the shore and sunsets are incredible. The staff, particularly Tucker in housekeeping and Hudson, Charlan, Rohnisha and Desiree in the restaurant and bar were accommodating and went above and beyond. They are all a credit to their profession.

CanadaThe optional meal plan needs to be revised. I assume it is rarely selected as the staff wasn't very updated on its inclusions. Although we ate like royalty our actual bill was half as much $ then the meal plan option ( meal plan should just be a loyalty discounted rate (example "20% off 18+ meals pr week" .. "15% off 14-18 mpw" for your stay not just a random 55USD75 amount pr day)
Book this hotel..! Summary; Price was amazing, food was consistently excellent, rooms were small but perfect. Way cheaper to stay, eat, drink & beach at this hotel then you will find anywhere on St Vincent Small resort in a quiet location with the best beach on the island. 5 Star chef (definitely worth the price to eat onsight) & all the staff including the new manager were always happy & attentive. One of the owners was also visiting with her husband during our stay. Lovely lady, even helping clean around & tend to the pet parrot, but best just enjoying her time at the hotel like a regular guest (most would never even know she wasn't just a guest like they). Happy hour drinks were almost as cheap as @ the grocery store within walking distance. Grounds were well kept & loungers had comfortable pads if you wanted. Beautiful pool, safe location with 24hr guard service. Had a bit of extra security there for the last part of our stay, presumably due as we seen the Prime Minister of Barbados showed up to stay at the Hotel. Well named as the sunset is stunning to watch every night. WiFi was strong & fast until cruise ship beachers got passcodes. Cruise beachers were only around for a few hrs a couple times a week so not much of a bother at all. Easy walk over to Indian Bay Beach although I prefer the calmer bay at the hotel. Ask the manager if he knows any tour guides, we had an excellent private tour by Kevin of St Vincent's west coast to Dark View falls. If you desire there is a water taxi on the oceanfront boardwalk that will take you on the 30 second trip to Young Island to explore.

United KingdomThe menu in the restaurant was a little samey and there were times when some dishes were not available at all. Also, although the lighting in my room was very good during the day, some net curtains or light blinds would have provided some privacy. The curtains were blackout ones which meant if you drew them in the day to change, the room became completely dark.
The location and surroundings were beautiful. The staff were very polite and friendly and the room always clean.

CanadaI did not like that they had the same menu for everyday. Lunch and dinner. They had no chicken for my stay there. We ate at other restaurants next door and they had chicken so not sure what was happening. The lady that took our order was not very knowledgeable about the menu. When we got in, we ordered lunch, took almost 1 hour to get it after talking to the bartender he help us to get it. Need to improve on the menu and restaurants staff.

United KingdomI booked a garden room, which was a mistake on my part. I didn’t feel we could use the balcony as it was more like a car park view than garden view, cars were parked right outside our balcony on the grass. I asked to upgrade and although the cost on booking.com was an additional $13 the hotel wanted to charge $41 per night. We refused to pay this as we felt we were being overcharged, especially as the hotel was almost empty. Balcony chairs were not nice and definitely not comfortable. We are going back to the hotel next week and have book a sea view room.
The pool area, the bars, the view from the pool area overlooking the sea.
