Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSamani Bukhara was a beautiful hostel in an amazing location. The staff were so kind and friendly, staying up late for us as we had a late check in, and giving us bottles of water when we arrived which were desperately needed in the heat! The room was spacious and cool, perfect for the weather, and the bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was delicious, made for us at whatever time we wanted it. We were even offered a lift back to the train station when we left! A really fantastic hostel, with even better hosts!

Fantastic family breakfast in the beautiful yard The hotel owner fulfilled all our wishes, organised transferres from and to railway station and day trip to desert and lake. Very warm atmosphere, highly recommended if you want to stay in an authentic local place, not in a big chain hotel.

The hotel is a 30 second walk from the very centre of Bukhara old town and is walking distance to all the main attractions. There are also many good restaurants and places to shop. The hotel is a nicely kept, family run place and nothing is too much trouble for them. We were met at the train station by Farkhod, the elder brother, who drove us to the hotel and pointed out some points of interest in the way. He also organised a walking tour & country tour for us which were excellent and very reasonably priced. The hotel had very comfortable, warm rooms and we slept very well. Unfortunately, the sun didn't really come out much during our trip but they did put out a table next to our room so that we could sit and enjoy a drink outside. If they didn't have what we wanted they actually went out and got it for us which was very kind. Lastly, I have to mention the breakfasts! We all really enjoyed the traditional selection of breads, cheese, samsas, eggs, pancakes...the list goes on. I have a son of 5 and 16 and the both enjoyed the food. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return, if I have the chance in the future. Thank you for making our stay in Bukhara memorable.

United KingdomI like the most their tradition and culture, it was a great feelings being with Bukhari people. I felt I am back at home. We speak the same language and the we have similar culture and tradition. I have learned how our culture and our accent is very close to them. Their accent is very close to Tajiks in Badakhshan and Tajiks in Herat. We had a lot in common.
Thank you very much for your great services. I will definitely want to meet you again. Mr Fakhrudin and his sons provided excellent services overall. We were welcomed like our own home. I had the feeling that I have arrived in my hometown and in my parents home. They welcomed us in an exceptional way. We stayed there for one night but I will remember them forever. I had never such feelings before. Bukhara is one of the most important city for the islamic society around the world. As you may heard Imam Bukhari was born in this City. who was one of the greatest islamic scholar. Bukhara was the best place to be for study for muslims. Ibn Sina was born in Bukhara, also known as Abu Ali Sina, Pour Sina, and often known in the West as Avicenna, was a Persian polymath who is regarded as one of the most significant physicians, astronomers, thinkers and writers of the Islamic Golden Age, and the father of early modern medicine.

United StatesThe flip side to having a spacious family room was that the AC was not adequate to get the temperature down to ~70F. The temperature outside reached 110F in the day and the nights were brutal too. Maybe the thermodynamics of a small room would be different?

United StatesThis hotel felt like home away from home in the center of Old Bukhara. My family was felling that we are visiting our relatives. Any question was answered. Owner arranged with very reasonable prices pick up and transfer back to the train station at 4 in the morning. Beds were very comfortable, AC worked well, even my 14 year old daughter said the bed was good. If ever be in Bukhara again we will only stay in Samani Bukhara.

AustraliaThe downside are the beds which were lopsided and uncomfortable. The pillows too were lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. We would encourage the owners to invest on new mattresses and pillows. Most likely we would not return to stay based on the above factors.
The location is terrific, inside the Old Town with narrow streets which meant it was relatively quiet to traffic. However, there were lots of renovations carried on in the neighbouring area which resulted in noises as the tradesmen worked till late. Love the breakfast spreads and the friendliness of the staff.

United KingdomEverything! Rough small sheets. NO table lamps to read. Bad lighting. NO hot water, only luke warm (if you are lucky).. The shower floods. NO kettle for tea unless you ask for it. NO buffet breakfast like in the pictures. Small rooms NOT what they say. NO balcony. NO view. NO toiletteies except some kind of liquid soap and 2 tiny sachets of shampoo (for the whole of 4 days). NO hair dryer. My husband got quite sick (like another guest in this hotel) and they asked ME to WASH the sheets!!! (which I did TWICE with their soap by hand) Quite humiliating for a woman of my age (70). Never in 50 years of travelling for work did I experience anything similar!! I tried to book other hotels before this one, but they were fully booked. Had my husband not been so sick we would have left after the first night. It is cheap and well located but do NOT be deceived. What you see in the pictures of booking.com is NOT what you get!!!. I was inspecting hotels in Samarkand, Buhkara and Khiva for a group of professionsl women ( like me) interested in Islamic arquitecture. They are 10 of them who will travel next spring. The hotels in the other 2 cities (much less pretentious) greatly surpassed my expectations., I will certainly NOT recommend Samani! Booking.com should know that what they offer on paper is not what you find when you arrive.
