Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Indiasuggest to oil the bathroom doors, as it’s a heritage property they’re quite noisy. Also there are very few outlets in the room and not conveniently located

PolandThe location is very central - you can walk to all the main sights. It is a little off a main square, tucked away (as many of the smaller hotels are) but I was given good directions and knew to look down a small alley to find it. I was the only guest I think in the hotel at the time and was allowed to check in right on arrival (a bit earlier than usual) and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Normally there would be a buffet, but since I was the only guest, I was brought essentially the variety of foods I would have had access to if there was a buffet. Very generous and delicious. Staff was friendly and exceptionally helpful, especially when I discovered after leaving town for Tashkent that I left a bag there! I was able to communicate with the hotel (btw. you should have an Uzbek number when you travel there in case of these circumstances as my US cellular service did not work in Bukhara) and the hotel told me they would send my bag to Tashkent! It arrived the next day. I am beyond grateful, not only for the wonderful stay in Bukhara at Kavsar but also for the help in returning my bag to me! Other room details: very clean, comfortable bed, room overlooked the courtyard so away from any possible noise.

AustraliaReception was often not manned, or manned by juniors who often couldn't help us. Food at breakfast could have been improved by offering freshly cooked eggs and real coffee. Water pressure in the shower was quite weak. They charged us extra "tourist tax" of USD $3 per person per night which wasn't mentioned on booking.com.
Room was large & well furnished. Breakfast room was beautiful. Good location at the start of the old city.

IsraelA few times we couldn't find anyone at the reception.
Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Well designed rooms and the breakfast hall. We requested transfer in the last moment and Rustam immediately sent someone to meet us. We also got upgraded to 2 separate rooms instead of the triple room we booked. Air conditioning worked great.

United KingdomThe air conditioning went out in that entire part of town, so the room got brutally hot in the middle of the day. I can't fault Kavsar for this, but fellow travelers told me that those outages are less common in other parts of Bukhara. Not sure if that is true, but it's something to think about if you're traveling in the summer.
It's a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained hotel in the heart of the old town. The breakfast is delicious and almost comically large.

IndiaHonestly, we couldn't complain about a place we love so much. But good to highlight a couple of things to keep in mind while choosing to stay here: 1. It's located in a pedestrian zone. So cabs stop some distance from the entry. If you have a lot of luggage, prepare for multiple strolley trips 2. Only instant coffee is free for breakfast. Espresso/Cappucino machine coffee costs are extra. So go easy with the buttons.
Kavsar Hotel was the highlight of our Uzbek trip. Fabulous in many ways 1. Fantastic location: At the edge of the pedestrian tourist village with shops, restaurants and sights all nearby and yet with quick access to the main road for cab access 2. Fantastic look: Very thoughtfully and aesthetically designed place with cultural cues oozing out of every corner. If you aren't an Instagrammer, you might actually be tempted to be one after to come here. 3. Fantastic breakfast: Great selection of warm-cold, baked-natural, sweet-savoury, local-international food options 4. Fantastic stay: Helpful people, warm and super cozy room (we came in the winter)

United StatesThey charge extra for coffee at breakfast. Laundry is very expensive ($1-2 per item), and they attempted to charge me above the quoted amount when I paid for the service. The manager was constantly bugging me to buy a tour package from him.
I was upgraded to a bigger and nicer room for free when I checked in. The ambiance is great. Good breakfast buffet with lots of options.
