The toilet had problems with flushing. There was an unpleasant smell probably from another room, but they were trying to get rid of it.

The accomodation is pleasant and the breakfast was excellent! The ladies working there were very kind and the owner was fair regarding the price and didn't try to charge more then expected (happened to me in two hostels before this one).

Need exhaust fan in bathroom, brighter lighting in room, pathetic Aircon. Should be atleast two tons. Noisy wooden beds whenever you sit, get up or turn while sleeping.

The single room has a little hallway with three more rooms. Unluckily the other rooms were booked by a mid aged men group. When I arrived they already made some strange talks and at 4AM in the first night they were very loud in front of the door, so I got very scared. While I was asking for changing the room the staff told me they are fully booked and that I should lock the door… As a single traveling woman I wished the staff checkt earlier where to put who.

The single room was amazing for the price. They also offer breakfast that looked great! The staff is so nice and they offer a laundry service.

It was quite noisy, whenever someone entered or left the rooms nearby or spoke in the courtyard. No kettle, no hairdryer, no opportunity to buy water bottles in the hotel. The bed was quite hard, I didn't feel comfortable in my room and couldn't sleep well.

It's located in a really nice area, right next to the mausoleum of Amir Temur. The owner is friendly and let me store my luggage in his office. The ladies working in the kitchen were very warm-hearted and kind.

Despite the name of the property, the breakfast was so so. Also it was cold at night in March. There was opportunity to turn on a conditioner but the air became to dry.

The stuff in this place is hospitable and warm-hearted. The location is perfect for tours by foot (if you travel by car the curvy and thin streets may be an obstacle in this part of city). We were given a tea when arrived.

Rooms were a bit run down, ants in the room and the waste was not emptied daily despite it was requestet to put the toilet paper in there. Manager was the only one who speaks english but was often not at hand.

A small hotel in walking distance to some of the greates sights in Samarkand. If you do not mind a longer walk you can visit the main sights one way and get back by taxi.

Great location and amenities - but the service leaves much to be desired (also bad english)
    • Leisure trip
    • Group
    • Bed in 6-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

The old man who runs the place needs to retire. When we arrived, we paid in American dollars, and he gave us the four-bed from room instead of the six-bed dorm room, which we booked - which was fine. He seemed confused by the room he gave us. The next day, he saw us and completely forgot who we were and accused us of not paying or checking in because we were not in the six bed room - despite spending more the 15 min with him less than a day earlier. It was only after he went through his phone and discovered pictures of our passport on there that he believed us. He is definitely slightly demented, and his English is atrocious. His wife seemed much more capable and helpful. The breakfast is not great - it is essentially 2 over-easy eggs and bread. The other staff are also not great with english.

The location is really good. You are right next to the tomb of Temir. The dorm rooms are excellent. They each have a nice private bathroom that looks like a sauna. The beds are comfortable. Doing laundry there is easy and done well (the lady folded and ironed it for us) - but not the cheapest.

Girls watch out: After going out with friends for drinks, I came back to the hotel around 1am. As requested in the guest information letter, I had texted them before on WhatsApp, telling them I would be back late (in the guest information letter they ask guests to let them know if they get back later than 11pm). They had not reacted to my text, though, and the door was closed, so I had to knock. An older man (the boss, as I was told later) opened the door and actually scolded me (!) for being back late, as if I was some minor girl that had violated his house rules. I found that really inacceptable. When I checked out, I left my key in the room, as I had agreed with one of the younger guys there, because I had to leave before 6am and thought that probably nobody would be at reception at such an early hour. However, the old guy was there and made me (in a very unfriendly manner) go back to the room and fetch the key for him, even though I told him I had agreed to leave the key at the room. Sorry guys, but that's not how you treat paying guests.

Location is excellent, just near to Gur Amir and other historical places in the City. Breakfast with Samarkandi hospitality was very delicious and staff were highly professional and best in their work. I appreciate and highly recommend this place especially for those who want to feel historical spirit of the most beautiful City and the Heart of Uzbekistan, ancient and Great Samarkand!

This is truly a budget place: cheap, hard mattress, in a pealing plastic cover. Thin towels. No hairdrier. I don’t mind putting used toilet paper into a bin but I do mind when it is not emptied for 4 days - did it myself in the end. Breakfast meagre, unappetising and unvaried, in a very cold dining room (still asked to take shoes off). Very poor internet when it works, and it didn’t work for 2 days.

Good location, right by Gur-Amir. Easy to get around on foot. Umbrella provided when asked for. Polite staff, but place not geared to winter tourism.

The staff and the location! The B&B/hostel is very centrally located and has everything in its proximity. Amir Temur Moseleum is a few steps away. The place looks very beautiful and has a lot of character to it. Great sumptuous breakfast in offer too. I shall be back again!
