Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe soundproofing is poor, and it was cold, but there is a warm blanket and an air conditioner that heats the room.
Very good location in the very center of the city. It's easy to get to from the airport by direct bus for $2.50. The hotel is not new, but it's suitable for a couple of nights. The staff is very nice and friendly, though they don't speak English. However, with a Google translator, we had no issues. They don't offer breakfast at all in the hotel, but they offer tea, coffee, and delicious pastries in the morning, which was very appreciated. There is hot water with good pressure and also good Wi-Fi. It was also nice to have an elevator in the hotel so we didn't have to carry our luggage up the narrow stairs.

United KingdomThe location was perfect. We had some issues in communication as we spoke little Spanish but the staff at the hotel did everything to accommodate us. Although the room was not overly large is had all the facilities expected It was cool and airy and the terrace a delight. Coffee was available all day and was a strong rich brew perfect to our taste. Breakfast ws simple and satisfying. All in all our stay at Hotel Palacio was spot on

United StatesThe charm of the building is the birdcage elevator. It's just darling. I don't know what the other rooms were like but my room, #67, was a gorgeous penthouse with a lovely terrace with magnificent views of the Rio and of the Bahia. Clean, comfortable, safe, very friendly staff.

EstoniaLoud at night over the weekend because people are going out and the hotel is very central. When showering, the water splashed outside the shower.
The location is incredible and lots of choices for coffee and dinners nearly. The wifi was fast so I could work from the hotel when needed. Very helpful and friendly staff, even though I barely know Spanish I could communicate with people. Really liked the mattress.

FranceThe historic city centre of Montevideo is not really alive at night and during the weekend, even if it does not feel unsafe, you would need to take a taxi or Uber to go to other neighbourhoods to find lively areas.
The hotel is located in the old city centre of Montevideo almost on the main square, but also close to the main square of the modern city. It is a very convenient location to explore Montevideo. It is located in a historical building and overall it is nice even if it is not a luxury hotel. The room we stayed had a terrace with a nice view.

ThailandI prefer a key to an electronic card. They always work.
The location was excellent with most major attractions just outside the door. The family did a lovely job presenting a varied, nutritious and colourful breakfast. When I got locked out of the hotel for a few hours due to an electronic card malfunction, the owner not only apologized profusely, but placed flowers in my room to say she was sorry. These people care a lot about their guests.

GermanyA bit old fashioned and some of the bathroom faucets where a bit leaky.
Good location at the border of the old city (where you probably don't want to walk around in the dark) and the newer central part of the city (where you maybe can walk around in the dark). Friendly staff, relatively spacy room, AC, ...

United StatesWe stayed at room 45 with a beautiful balcony to the street. On a Saturday night, that was a loud place to be. If you want to party and will be up past 9pm room 45 is perfect. If like you go to bed early and I was not able to sleep. But once again, it was because of my beautiful little balcony .
No better location for sightseeing in old Town and Centro. Friendly staff. Ocean , Rambla, live tango, rock bar . Location location location!!!

United KingdomSome renewal of the doors , locks , baths and patios were needed. Clarity by Booking.com on the methods of payment to the hotel is needed to avoid embarrassment in payment method and currency acceptable and cash or card discounts .
The location is perfectly central for all the main city attractions and sights. Secure Parking is available about 100 metres away at a cost 360 UR Pesos per day . Beds are comfortable , hot water and showers were good . The free hot coffee or tea and hot milk for self service along with pastries and medalunas were very appreciated by the guests , and is a nice touch for guests.

United StatesIt was very nosy at night. Street noise not from inside the hotel (even with the AC running) we could hear all the Saturday night walkers and partiers. The hotel is charming but old, so it's a little tired, but again for the price we paid (less then $50 a night) we have no complaints it was perfect.
Cozy and old world charm to this hotel, and incredible value at the price. They have a cute little elevator and a quaint little roof top, and the sweetest staff that works there. They even have coffee, tea, and bakery in the morning which we weren't expecting.
