Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTheir air conditioning wasn’t on for the season yet (as is a problem with older buildings) but we cracked the window open to regulate the temperature.
The historical hotel was filled with items and decor that was reminiscent of an older time. The architecture was great, the rooms were updated and well maintained! Fantastic staff, especially the person who came to service our rooms.

CanadaThey only sent me the invoice in email like 2 weeks after I requested. Maybe that is part of old slow culture so I don't really mind much.
Location is great just in the center of the city. The room is very unique and full with the culture. The beds are very comfy. The room is super clean

United StatesThe room wasn't exactly clean when we arrived. There was some leftover trash in the couch, chairs, and even the bed-- which was the most concerning. There were old vape pens everywhere. Because of this, we requested new sheets and changed the beds ourselves. Another outcome was that we ended up at CVS after check-in to pick up some cleaning wipes to clean the bathroom, tables, remotes, etc. I could have said something, but I am not that type. If I can fix it, I won't fuss. In this particular case, I should have drawn the line on day 3 when we found two additional vape items in the chair and what I can only assume is a slim jim on the floor by the bed.
I had a room to stay in with my family. It was hot since they hadn't switched to spring/summer mode, according to them. However, they did send an engineer up to turn off the heat, which was greatly appreciated. Otherwise, we would have baked. It is in a convenient location. You are close to the capitol building, Brown and JWU, the Amtrak station, the convention center, and Providence Place Mall. There are a lot of different cuisines around-- likely a result of the culinary school students sticking around to pursue their ventures.

United KingdomThe double beds felt a little narrow, but we had two of them in our room for three and they were very comfortable.
We had a lovely size room in a remarkable hotel, with a small, comfortable lounge space and plenty of space for the three of us. The bathroom was a reasonable size although considering the size of the rest of our room it felt slightly small... but was more than adequate. The hotel felt like it was in the centre of the city and was well located for all that we needed, the lobby is clearly a bit of a gem and we ventured up to the top floor to have a look at the incredible ballroom and see the spectacular views from the top floor. The car park was just behind the hotel and very easy to get to and from.

United StatesI had really wanted to go in the sauna. It was one of the reasons I booked with you. I knew the spa opened at 10 so I went down all excited and they said the sauna in the spa didn’t open until 12. I was bummed and had to checkout
Location was great - so central to Brown, restaurants and train station

United StatesIt is a much older hotel. Elevators were slow. The lighting in the bathroom was way too dark. Couldn’t see in the mirror even to wash my face. The room was also quite hot, I had to crack a window.
Very comfortable beds and quite a big room which I was able to sit and talk with visiting friends without having to go to a bar.

United StatesThe heat wasn’t working properly and had to be fixed (and it was cold while we were there), spent two days trying to get my keys to work until they finally had to replace the door lock. No movie services and no one at the front desk could help us connect our Netflix to the TV monitor so my daughter and I had to hover around her laptop to watch a movie. The pillows were far to overstuffed and neither my daughter nor I could use them. $35/day parking.
The hotel has loads of character, our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable.

United StatesThe only negative is probably not one the hotel can do much about. I am disabled and the elevator was difficult to negotiate with the heavy door and small size when I had to use it with luggage.
Staff at the desk exceeded expectations. They were friendly and helpful at every interaction. The room was small, but very comfortable and clean.
