Sadly underwhelmed for the cost. The room was quite different from the lovely photos. I'd treated us for our anniversary . No longer family owned.. another reason I'd booked this one. Our room was clean but the stair carpet to the restaurant was quite off putting and could be cleaned so easily... Breakfast was handy and some variety but yogurts and bread only appeared one day out of the three. Do hope the hotel is revitalized as it has great potential...

Comfy quiet room. Great central location .

Parking is the worst. The valet parking garage across the street charged me $70 for one over night and I was honestly concerned if I was going to get my car back without any issues. The hotel room wasn't bad but the pictures look so much nicer than the room itself. The bathroom wasn't bad and looked to have been upgraded within the last 10 years.

The aesthetics were great! We really liked the lobby and dining areas as they were quite visually appealing. The breakfast was very good too!! We really enjoyed the food. The location wasn't bad as it was in the heart of town, but not really walkable from any of the tourist spots. The staff was super nice and friendly!!!

The noise from the trailer bus can be heard in the room.

I like the property decoration with many modern impressionist artists’ master pieces. The bed is comfortable and bather room are spacious. The location is very convenient to go anywhere.

Nothing ! My husband would have liked some cereal at breakfast but the rest of us were happy.

Charming French provincial decor in very good repair. Very nice cooked breakfasts and helpful staff. Great location near Union Square and many ethnic restaurants. Very good value.!

Some residents didn't close the lift gates meaning others couldn't call the lift. This wasn't the hotels fault but did cause some frustration.

The breakfast was offered free of charge. We were in a street frontage room on the fourth floor which meant we had good light and a nice view but did mean we picked up more street noise as we needed the window open at night to stay cool.

Breakfast was OK, however some oats/cereal would have been appreciated.

The location is excellent. The hotel is quirky with it's French theme. The room was comfortable if a little small.

The Cornell is a unique delight in a very unique city.

The elevator is unique and while there are multiple signs asking patrons not to pull the inner gate open or closed, it seems people fail to comply so the elevator is occasionally down. The elevator is one of the unique items in the hotel tho.

We love San Francisco and like to spend our anniversary, Valentine's day, there when we can. One reason we chose the Cornell is our history of staying there in the 90's and early 2000. We were also anxious to have a Valentine's dinner in the Jeanne d'Arc castle-like restaurant in the basement. The hotel is central to most things we like to see. It is beautifully decorated. It is quaint. The restaurant puts out a delicious fresh breakfast that is included in the room charge. Our dinner at the restaurant was excellent. It was very romantic and the environment is cozy.

Our room was too cool for us and the heating unit was not working. We did call for assistance and were promised that maintenance would take care of it. This did not happen before we left.

The entire building is beautifully decorated. Our room was lovely and staff were helpful. The breakfast was a plus.

The breakfast very poor. Very disappointing. No ham, no cheese, no bacon (actually one day there was bacon but that days there was no sausages). No vegetables, no beans, no tomatoes, no mushrooms. No espresso, no cappuccino, just long American coffee. That’s was very disappointing for a French inspired hotel.

Room was ok, bed a bit too soft.

    Everything was great!

The room was lovely, clean and bright. The bathroom was large and had a great shower. The towels were great. They were large and fluffy. There was a coffee maker, a large TV with Netflix for guests. There were plenty of USB ports next to the bed. The hotel is just off the main street, very near Union Square. This might be a little noisy for some people but we fell asleep very easily. We loved the elevator - very "Only Murders in the Building". The complimentary breakfast was basic but very filling - croissants, toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes and orange juice. A great start to the day. There is also a microwave and fridge for guests to use. The staff were happy to let us leave our bags after we checked out, without charge. We explored more of the city and returned later for our luggage.

Public parking. They take 40 USD per night, but you have to leave the car open, and you leave the keys inside. At the same time they do not take any responsibility for missing belongings. Not sure if that's a common practice in SF, but I wouldn't use that parking again.

A little bit more variety for breakfast. Eggs, sausages and potatoes were good and tasty but the same style every day got a bit boring. But breakfast was plentiful, so a great bonus

Small and comfortable hotel. Clean, staff friendly, good breakfast, nice decor. Cable car and nice pizza place next door.
