Remodeling is in progress and the hallways were not as neat and clean as they could have been even with the ongoing work.

Building was under renovations and in need of repairs and upgrades, smelled stuffy with an odor of air freshener trying to mask true odor. Maybe once renovation are complete property will be great, location is great... Staff was great though...

Maintenance is severely lacking here. Lots of easy fixes that would take little time. Not as clean as I would have liked. You could tell they swiped at it but missed a little. There was toothpaste on the underside of the sink faucet and sides, bathroom floor was nasty in the corners, blow dryer handle had gunk all over it. Refrigerator didn't looked like it had been wiped out in a minute. Room had a funky wet, stale smell, almost like wet dirty socks when we entered the room. We had came in from the truck race late in the afternoon. First thing I did was clean the bathroom real good and spray everything down with lysol. I'm picky, yes, but it seriously needed and I tried to lessen the smell. Inspected the beds, they looked clean. Desk needed wiping off. No debris on carpet, looked as though it had been vacuumed. But it could use a good cleaning. I wouldn't have walked on it barefoot after seeing the bathroom. The toilet was not secured to the floor well, it rocked on the floor, and it needed fixing. You had to jiggle the handle to stop it from running after flushing. The shower drain was not attached to the bottom of the shower, it was broke loose. Nothing so wrong that a little maintenance and a good cleaning g couldn't fix. Would I stay again, probably. But not for more than a night. It's just one of those I need a cheap place with a bed and a shower kinda deals. We weren't in there long, again we came in for the race. Checked in later in the afternoon, showered, slept and got up and left for the track again. I really didn't expect a luxury hotel. There are more expensive ones in the area, if you are staying longer I would probably check them out. I booked this one for the price and came prepared to deal with it. I'm honest, I give honest reviews. Don't expect much here, the hotel next door is just as good a shape, their prices are pretty close for one night.

Love this location. We have stayed at the hotel next door as well. We feel safe in this area. Plenty of food choices, shopping nearby(within 5 minutes). Not near as congested as nearby cities. We stay for the talledega race. The room was a good size. We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite. It had a couch, a desk and chair, small refrigerator, microwave, blow dryer, safe, iron and ironing board. There is a good sized TV in the room, however, it is in front of the beds. You really can't see it from the couch. The cable is just basic. You have to look at the channel guide and punch in the channel you want to watch. It doesn't have any info on the stations. Good cold air conditioner. This hotel was $189 with tax for one night. No extra charges over what booking.com quoted. It was sufficient for our needs. I would recommend for a quick overnight stay if you're just needing a place to sleep and a shower. Do not expect luxury. it is a basic, sufficient hotel. Looks like it may be older and they may have painted and renovated in the last few years. However, the maintenance was lacking.

Unhappy that I paid through Booking.com then paid again at the site, and now my second payment is still tied up at my bank. I need my funds released for that second payment. Too inconvenient to book through a third party.

Check in staff on Thursday evening very unfriendly. Nobody at the front desk when I arrived. Had to wait 5-7 minutes before somebody came to the desk. No apology, no smile, no greeting. Very unfriendly and not very professional looking
