After you open the door towards the rooms from checking in, it smells like old weed/must and smoke. The building is dark and gloomy and gives weird vibes. The doorway to the bathroom is a lot smaller than a standard door so if you're a larger person you could have trouble fitting. The beds were not comfortable for us but if you like a hard bed you'll like it. The lighting in the room was very dim and the lights beside the bed didn't even work.

The room seemed cleaned OK. There were cameras in the stairway area. Linens seemed clean & the free toiletries were a nice brand. Had cable TV.

For the price, I can't really complain about anything. Every other hotel in this area was markedly higher, and although this place was run down, it was clean, no bugs, no mold, and was comfortable.

The outlet in the bathroom only worked when the light was on. I had brought my own night light and could not plug it in to give me some light in the bathroom at night time. The remote to the TV did not seem to work other than to turn the TV on and off. I had to control the TV by the buttons on the box. Some instructions would be nice also.

The location was excellent for what I was in town for. It was nice and quiet even though it was right next to a gas station. The gentleman that checked me in was very friendly and accommodating. Convenient parking. I had a convenient room right at the top of the stairway which was nice.

The staff was not exactly unfriendly, but they were indifferent. That's probably the best way I can put it. Questions were answered monosyllabollicy or with nods or shakes of the head; at times it felt as if the staff were a bunch of robots. It was hard to get a smile from them. This is minor, but it is a factor. People who run hotels should at least endeavor to be sociable. Plus there was no breakfast whatever, just lousy coffee. Total bare bones. Luckily there were a range of options within easy walking distance for food, so I did not go hungry, but it is nice to have something available "in house". Not even any vending machines, which seems odd to me. Also nothing in the way of pools or weight rooms. Nothing like that.

It was entirely adequate in every way. Not too noisy. Clean. No bugs. No weird smells. No lingering smoke or allergic reactions to someone else's pets (all problems I've had in the past at other hotels). Great water pressure (a big plus) when I took my morning shower. Easy access to downtown and restaurants (another biggie).

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. They came in every day to change towels and empty trash. The entrance to the main motel had a bad foul odor, but once we got to the room, you didn't smell it, thank goodness! They were homeless people or a homeless shelter right behind it, which made you feel unsafe.
