    Everthing was oke.

The Lodge is amiable and meets the needs of intercontinental guests. I liked the avocado room, which was next to the main building. It is cozy and private. The breakfast was very good and fresh, and the coffee was super. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Charging in local currency for food and drink would have been better for our currency conversion, but no dramas.

We had a lovely restful stay at Karibu Entebbe. Stella, Rose, Tina and the rest of the team offered us warm and world-class service during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the yummy food including local specialties like the Rolex! Jennifer the masseuse and her massages were just what we needed after returning from a tough gorilla-trekking experience.

Both breakfast and dinner at the outdoor restaurant were delicious and very well presented. I really appreciated the attention to detail (curtains, cushions, mosquito nets, interior design,...) and the kindness of the staff. We really enjoyed having coffee in the lovely garden while listening to the bird calls. The view on the lake is lovely as well.

Restricted menu but understandable given the venue size and location

Attention to detail in all aspects from staff training, to room preparation and presentation of menu.

Although breakfast was fantastic and the team were happy to accommodate vegan dietary needs which was much appreciated, the food seemed over priced and the vegan options mainly came about by removing components of the vegetarian option e.g. the dish minus cheese, minus butter, minus eggs etc. This meant for lunch it was 12 USD for a chapatti with avocado and tomato inside, which seems expensive - although it tasted good. I would also recommend taking dollars cash as the conversion rate being used if you pay either by card or in shillings is 1USD=3700UGX, apparently the card has no option to pay in dollars so you are stuck with the exchange rate even though all prices are listed in dollars. The room was nice, however, the mosquito nets are huge - attached to the ceiling and encompassing most of the room, so we still seemed to get bitten lots overnight despite having the nets down. Power was out most of the day which meant no last minute charging of devices before our ongoing journey. I think overall whilst it was a nice place to stay I didn't feel it justified the price - but I understand that entebbe is an expensive place to stay so maybe I am just out of touch.

The room was spacious and had mosquito nets. Tea and coffee was provided in the room (nice ground coffee with mini french press). En suite bathroom. The gardens were beautiful and it was nice to have the small pool to dip into. Pool towels were provided which is a nice touch. The team were very friendly and helpful throughout, we received a warm welcome and staff were very attentive in ensuring food and drinks were in constant supply. We were also able sit by the pool for a couple of hours after check out which was hugely appreciated. The breakfast was fantastic (coffee, fruit, juice, toast, baked beans, mushroom, tomato, avocado) and the team even made sure we had soya milk for our coffee as we are both vegan. The ambience by the pool and the outdoor restaurant was also lovely.

The staff were wonderful and attentive but the hotel did not meet our expectations

Despite the truly wonderful and attentive staff, the hotel did not meet our expectations. We had previously stayed in the Four Points by Sheraton in Kampala which was cheaper and the hotel was SIGNIFICANTLY nicer. There were more amenities offered and the quality of the rooms and hotel is much higher. We appreciate that this is a boutique hotel, rather than a chain, but the high price tag was not justified. The rooms were VERY basic. Even whilst including the cost of an Uber to and from Kampala from Entebbe, it is possible to stay at a hotel with more amenities/ rooms of a higher value for the same price. Whilst we appreciated the convenience of being near the airport, Kampala is not too long of a drive away. Additionally, the mosquito net in the bedroom was more of a curtain, which I was disappointed with because the window was in the same section of the room as the bed, which wasn't protected by the mosquito net. Mosquito repellent for the room is provided, but the mosquito net is important. As I said at the beginning, my review cannot take away from how wonderful the staff were - I really valued their kindness during our short stay. We were just disappointed with the quality of the rooms considering the high price tag (which starts at $180 USD per night for guests who do not book through booking.com).

The first thing that needs to be mentioned is that the staff were incredible! They met us at the car, greeted us by name and were happy to attend to our needs. I cannot express enough how wonderful the staff were despite being at capacity. They were happy to take into consideration my dietary requirements which I appreciated - I actually didn't get the chance to try the food as we left the hotel early in the morning (although it was offered). The hotel was also located a 10 minute drive from the airport and they offered free airport transfers. Additionally, once guests were in their rooms and not in the hall way, I couldn't hear them so I was able to get a full nights sleep. Lastly, there was AC and a fan which was appreciated too!
