Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RwandaI booked a single room which was excellent since i traveled alone. The bed was very comfortable but the size of the room seemed/felt very confined, which made it feel like for $59 was a little costly. But its in Kampala, close to most things, so not a dislike per say.
The location, safety, food/breakfast staff are excellent. Rooms are cleaning and comfortable bed.

Accomodation is a bit out the centre, but therefore quiet. Walking is just at about 30 minutes, there is shoppingmall close to stock up on supplies for your roadtrip. Futhermore: it's set up in a relaxing atmosphere with a nice terrace!

GermanyThere were constant electricity cuts which were definitely related to the property as the adjacent properties had unobstructed electricity during those outages. It was very bad. Sometimes having an outage every 10 minutes for about 2 hours. They need to fix it ASAP. The window of the sleeping area looks towards a common corridor. Meaning if you value your privacy you can't sleep / stay in the room with curtains open as people passing by will see you. Although the sleeping area was really good the same couldn't be said for the bathroom. It needs URGENT renovation. Shower was leaking heavily to the bathroom floor. The window was broken. The mirror was hastily installed. There seemed to be renovations on the 2rd floor of the property it, maybe that the renovation for this room (ground floor) is already planned.
The sleeping area was quite good with all the needed amenities. There was both a cooling fan and an A/C unit. The bed was big and comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was an option to pay with mobile money as well as credit card.

CanadaThere was a buzzing noise from outside from time to time - sort of a white noise sound. We also left late about 30 minutes late for the airport as someone had the vehicle out and was late getting back.
This place was in a great location and despite being near a busy road, my room was quite quiet. The menu at the restaurant is quite extensive and delicious.

Germany-
In Kololo there are many good restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. But we never managed to see one of those restaurants, because the in-house restaurant was always dragging us for food and coziness. Thank you.

GermanyThere was a lot of loud music coming from nearby establishments until about 11 PM, but then the music suddenly stopped (which we were very grateful for). This didn't bother us too much, but I felt that I should mention it, in case other guests like to go to sleep earlier. It was fine for us.
The location was fantastic. It was in an upscale area of town and it felt very safe. There were many chic restaurants nearby, including the hotel's own restaurant. We loved the breakfast buffet, which had lots of interesting options (including samosas!). The rooms were very comfortable and I liked how all of the rooms faced into a courtyard. It felt like an oasis in the middle of the city. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again the next time that I come to Kampala!

ItalyThe bathroom is a bit dated, but everything works well: best water and hot pressure I had in Uganda! All the staff are very kind but some sound a bit unexperienced: booking a taxi early in the morning was quite an issue, although before and at my arrival I had anticipated I would need a taxi. In the end all worked well, but it was a bit stressful at the beginning.
The small hotel is in a very central location of chaotic Kampala but is incredibly calm and provides an excellent opportunity to relax, as it is secluded by high walls and trees. Staying in the building at the back (where you should ask for a room), I could enjoy the little, pleasant garden where I could sit having tea in front of my bedroom door. The room had a decent size and was well equipped with air conditioning, a mosquito-net and tea/coffee facilities, which I really appreciated. Adjacent to to the hotel, there's a good restaurant which serves simple but trasy local and international dishes made with organic products till late, The resstaurant also has a very nice and peaceful open terrace where you can eat outside, in a nice atmosphere. All the property is very clean and I paid a very reasonable price for the quality and the location of the accomoodation.

LuxembourgDepending on were you were, the internet connection was better/worse, sometimes interrupted. Ok for normal smartphone use, maybe a problem if you have to work from your computer. The daily cleaning of the garden started before 8am and could be a reason to wake up earlier than you wanted.
Situated in a calmer area, tucked away from the street with possibilities to sit outside of your rooms facing the well-kept garden. On the same grounds, there is a restaurant/bar where also a good and copious breakfast is served, they have great cocktails and food as well. A little organic convenience store can be found at the grounds as well. You can recharge your batteries without having to move around a lot. The staff is attentive and helpful.

DenmarkManagement did a lot to improvement the decor, with a bit more effort and maybe some assistance the place can become really very nice. Would be great if the reception had some cash so they could change, and also an idea to install safes in the room 😊

GermanyI appreciate a clean environment but I woke up from the slightly excessive sweeping in the courtyard in front of my room, which commenced around 7.30am.
I stayed at the Explorers Hub for one night at the end of my three week safari trip through Rwanda/Uganda and was truly positively surprised by the great value for money! The team of the hotel and adjacent restaurant was very friendly and attentive, the room (with A/C) spacious and clean, the shower had great water pressure, wifi was stable and breakfast (and dinner) were copious and delicious. I wish more places in Uganda lived up to these standards!

KenyaThe first thing I was asked before check out was "where did I get the director's number" Mr. Director I got your number from the booking confirmation email, and I only called because I couldn't find the hotel. My advice if you don't want to be called by clients use another number. The beddings were so light for the weather was cold for us. To top it up it rained. The breakfast service was very wanting, my kids orders were mixed up my son left without breakfast, my daughter's milk was ready at midday 😞. Well mistakes do happen but you asked me what I didn't like.
The location was very convenient. I loved the cleanliness in the rooms. The food was tasty and very delicious. I loved the plates. The convince shop had almost everything we needed. My kids and I had a comfortable stay. Chance the receptionist did a good job taking care of us we were chanced to have him serve us unfortunately when we left he was gone. The best was that I could have 3 beds in the room so we didn't have to share a bed with my kids.
