How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Some amenities such as the standing fans need to be upgraded.
It’s set in a rally beautiful place. Breakfast was on the porch with the morning sun with the sound of chirping birds.

It was a little expensive for the type of accommodation. It is an older colonial style home that needs work.
This place is in a great location; very green, quiet and monkeys. Also short walking distance to the Victoria Mall.

The wifi wasn't very good.
Henry the manager looked after us very well and made our stay as enjoyable as he could, putting in extra effort here and there.

Had to ask for towels - which were clean and nice when they came - and TP was almost finished with no spare. Room is functional and spacious, but finishing is fair. Some more paint and care is needed.
The location and the hosting were great. The shower was high pressure and really hot. The bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the verandah overlooking the lake and Botanical gardens was very nice. We came at a horrible time in the early morning and requested to check out late. The host accomodated these requests - thank you!

great location next to the Botanical Gardens. Beautiful building and gardens. Excellent host who couldn’t do enough for us, and who was very happy to chat and share his insights about Uganda. No problem with wifi.

We chose it because it was beside the Botanical Gardens. It was a pretty house in a well-kept garden. Breakfast was excellent with a good serving of fruit, juice and delicious sandwiches.

The mattresses were shaped and pressed by many people affecting the comfort. The sounds in the house are audible wherever you are so earpluggs are recommended if you need total silence.
Henry, Dorothy and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were the only guests being off-season and that was great too. It's a good place for backpackers, quiet surroundings and a nice garden. The location is great and it's easy to explore Entebbe from Egg.

Location is excellent. Close to Victoria Mall and 50m from the gate to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.

Wifi not always available, not for host guilt but for the location, I suppose. The bathroom would need a little maintenance.
Amazing location next to the bothanical garden! And near to the servicies. Host really friendly and always available. Super breakfast! Both for quality and quantity. If you eat everything they give you, you can skip the lunch...
