Right next to a mosque, so if you are light sleeper expect to be woken up a lot with the call to prayer (4am ish all year around), or every other hour during Ramadan!

Everything was so nice about this place. The rooms were so unique, and the feeling walking around the hotel was felt like going back in time.

Bed was hard and very early checkout and checkin was 3pm which isn’t fair. because I had a 10pm it would’ve been nice to have to room later especially when I ordered a spa service which is supposed to be in your room. If you want to have the room for longer you have to pay extra even just for a few hours.

Breakfast was amazing however the bed was very hard. The staff were amazing and the room was so clean and tidy I loved the authenticity and the decor was lovely.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed - the building is stunning and very well maintained. The staff were helpful and the food was amazing when I tried the restaurant. Overall I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Kholle house.

My whole holiday stay at Kholle house was perfect. Advise to book the hotel well in advance as hotel is booked up quiet quickly.

Breakfast was sufficient as the hotel focused on serving 2-3 excellent fresh local produce options.

This was the most beautiful heritage boutique hotel. Floating in the pool was the coolest (temperature wise) and relaxing experience in two weeks in Zanzibar. We only stayed here for our last night on the Island and wish we'd been able to stay here our other nights in Stone Town.

the room was a bit squishy

the staff were great, however Ramsel was exceptional. he was fun and light hearted. he had wonderful service skills and it was easy to see that he really enjoyed his job :) the food was on a whole new level both in presentation and taste. definitely the best food we had in Zanzibar. we just loved loved loved the pool. we both felt like a prince and princess luxurating with a bit of decadence. what an amazing room. so much history. the architecture was from a time and place rich with wealth

what an amazing stay. in the middle of the city, near the harbour and still an oasis of silence. breakfast and pool in the morning, and specialty in the hot afternoon, cools you down. Great! I will book it again.

It’s an absolute stunning and well run building with noticeable attention to the details. Great breakfast and meals , lovely attentive staff , it’s just a bliss !

The noise overnight/early morning from the nearby busy port area, there was also a Mosque next door, which was loud at call to prayer, which we were used to. The stairs are old, step, and wooden and wouldn't suit everyone, although they were in keeping with the design of the building. However, the staff did help with the luggage (there is no lift). For use of the roof terrace there was a 5$ per couple additional cover charge for drinks/food, which for hotel guests is disappointing. In certain places like the bathrooms, they are in need of some TLC and the overall standard is not as luxurious as you would expect from the photos.

An authentic property in the heart of Stone Town, a nice selection and well presented breakfast, the courtyard and small pool area are quaint. The staff were very smartly dressed and attentive. There was a water cooling machine on every floor, which was an added bonus on very hot humid days. We stayed at this property for its 15/20 minute drive to the international airport and a couple of days in Stone Town.

Kitchen area not equipped wiyh any cutlery or crockery - i am sure they would have provided if asked. Fridge and kettle. Shower had a curtain which is always problematic plus i walked straight into the glass section at night, bruising my chest.

Very peaceful oasis very close to ferry port away from thadness of Stone Town. Close to start of waterfront promenade which was great for pram. Lovely pool and food, cold drinks. Pretty roof terrace. Our suite family room was outstanding,. Laindry was quick and ironed well
