Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI went there with a friend on holiday. It is a nice house with multiple rooms that are rented out individually with a big living room where all guests can hang out. It has a really nice relaxed vibe and also feels very safe. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Peter the owner was always easily reachable via mobile if we had any questions. Johny one of the staff showed us around moshi and the market and was also always able to assist us if we had questions or wanted to do a day trip. Breakfast was made every morning by the two girls from the staff, it was very good - there was always fresh fruit and eggs. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and the rooms (we stayed in two different ones) were very comfortable.

United StatesPeter is a great host, he was responsive, helpful, and goes above and beyond to meet the guest's needs! Hands down one of the best hosts I've interacted with. His staff Neema, Winnie, and John were lovely too! You can tell they all like what they do and work well together. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to tell Peter or his staff and they'll be sure to address it! The rooms are clean and well decorated. I appreciated the large & comfortable bed and high pressure hot shower. Some of the rooms are fairly new and Peter was quite receptive to feedback on how to continue meeting guests' needs. The breakfast was delicious. Karibu Africa Home is within walking distance to some good restaurants and a short boda-boda or tuk tuk ride to town. They organize activities for guests which was quite convenient for me. I did the waterfall & coffee and hot spring tours and thoroughly enjoyed them all... Moshi is beautiful!

NetherlandsThe bathroom is very basic & the shower had no stand to hold it up. However this was fine, especially considering this place is pretty new!!
Karibu Africa was such a good place. Our host Peter was so chill & kind. He was always wanting to help us with booking activities. We had a movie night with him and a another girl & it was such a good vibe! He is very kind & social and makes you feel at home. The place is very spacious, has a big couch to chill on & big clean rooms. The breakfast was really good too! Moshi is very easily reachable with a taxi or tuktuk or even a long walk. Sadly we had to leave pretty early due to our safari, but def hope to come back!

Great location in a quiet, green, peaceful area with some good restaurants walking distance or just 5 minutes away (2000 TNS) by motorbike ride from the supermarket, ATMs and the noisy center. Nice big rooms, comfy beds, clean all around, good filling breakfast and fast WiFi. Also the ventilators are a nice touch in case it gets hot but mostly you don't need them as it cools down during the night. Peter is an amazing host, you feel like home but also helped a lot to organise things including finding the best deal to hike Kili and renting missing mountain equipment. I feel lucky to have stayed here. Would come again :) Asante Sana!

Peter is a great host, he is always keen to help and offers to show us around. E.g he helped us getting a SIM card, a bajaj and helped with the bustimes. We felt very safe and the place felt like home! On top of that there is an amazing kili view from the front garden, the rooms and sanitary are very hygienic and the breakfast is so good. The bedroom was very big and the mattress was comfortable.

United KingdomWe came for 2 days and we liked it so much that we stayed for almost 2 weeks at Peter’s place. The place is nicely decorated, clean, well-located and you can actually see Kilimanjaro main peak from the front yard! Our room was spacious and filled with light, also had a super comfy bed. Most of all though, we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere where everyone gets on with their day but then comes back in the evening for a nice chat in the living room. Great place for a short stop or longer stay as a digital nomad. It felt like home, everyone was so nice and we met wonderful people. My wife and I really enjoyed it and we hope to come back one day!

AzerbaijanWe stayed in this hostel one night, before starting our Kilimanjaro climbing Very good for the short stay. It is more like an apartment with a common kitchen, so you get feeling like you are home Owner was super nice and helpful. Free coffee, tea and drinking water facilities in the kitchen. Bars and restaurants around, so we had no problem to find place to eat. We didnt have time to visit Moshi, but the town is at half an hour walking distance from the hotel . I definetely reccommend, worth the money we paid.

SwitzerlandThe washing facilities are not the newest ones, but it is enough to get a shower and as it was clean, that‘s the most important thing.
I felt very welcome there. Peter helped me with everything like ordering food, organized a bike tour for me and all the transports. He also took me to a local bar, which was fun. Breakfast was delicious with very good coffee. The rooms are big and the bed comfy. I had a really good time there!
