Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesnothing! They are doing such a wonderful job!
What an absolutely wonderful time we have just had. I have stayed at so many lodges in Karatu over the years, but never had such a wonderful experience as at Foresight Eco Lodge. First, our car broke as we were driving up to the lodge. I called and they immediately came to help, towed my car all the way back the lodge and then helped find a mechanic to come up to the lodge and fix the car. They were so kind and helpful! On top of that, the experience at the lodge was absolutely wonderful - from the food (which was plentiful and very tasty) to an incredibly kind and helpful staff, to a beautiful property with views as far as the eye can see, to facilities that are thoughtfully laid out so that you feel quite comfortable. I just can't think of anything that would make it better. Except....what does make it better is that it is all done with the environment in mind, so that it is sustainable and careful to the environment and community around, AND they are very involved in the community around them, assisting with schools and generally being a productive and useful part of the community. If you get the chance.....I would highly recommend this lodge! I am already planning my next trip back in a few months time! Thank you all so much for all your help, and kindness! It was just superb! (the hot water bottles in the beds at night are such a lovely touch)

ChinaIt would be good to have WiFi signal in the hut.
Thank you, Anita and Ernest, for the warm hospitality and genuine welcome at the lodge. Nestled amidst trees and flowers, the cozy hut provided a clean and comfortable stay, complete with a thoughtful touch like a warm water bottle in the evening. The delicious meals, presented with excellence, and the attentive staff added to the overall charm. The diverse range of activities, from visiting a local school to the awe-inspiring day safari in Serengeti, made my stay memorable. Looking forward to returning soon.

NetherlandsBeautiful grounds with fruit trees and flowers. Houses are great for staying out in the nature, we really felt like we’ve been outside all the time. Staff gave us the most happy and enthusiastic welcoming song. Campfire after dinner was a true safari moment. The team is young and the way they run the camp is amazing, very efficient and caring. Huge thanks to Irene, Lucien and others whose names we did not note. We’ll be back when next time in Karatu!

TanzaniaThe only thing to consider when booking here is as it is a camping and lodge style place the rooms are not sealed, so at night bugs can enter your room and you might wake up with a couple bites.
The entirety of the lodge is situated on a hill side with immaculate views of the Ngorogoro forest and surrounding areas. Everyone who works on the property is extremely kind and gracious, and helpful in anyway, you could ask for. The food prepared for all meals was delicious, and they even made us lunches for our safari. Everything was exactly as described and I cannot recommend this place enough, I hope to come back one day.

SwitzerlandThe best hotel we ever stayed at! Anita & Ernest honestly built a little paradise in the middle of the forest there. They were extremly helpful with planning our stay and organized two amazing safaris for us (Ngorogoro & Tarangire). The saff is incredible and everything feels like a big family. We would definitely come again!

United StatesThe setting was beautiful especially the view and flower gardens where colorful birds flew around. Staff helped with planning our safaris including Ngorongoro crater. Our guide and driver Raphael shared our interest in birds and helped I’d them for us. The food was well prepared and tasty. Ernest scheduled our trips and shuttles. Walking around the village was interesting. Foresight has several programs to help the villagers including the cow program and building a school for the children. I highly recommend Foresight Eco lodge for the wonderful accommodations and staff and its big heart to help their village.

FranceMagical place. We discovered Foresight after spending a few days in Zanzibar. We were already amazed but we had no idea what awaited us at Foresight ecolodge! This place is magical, after having passed green coffee plantations and having greeted the very welcoming inhabitants, you will arrive at the top of a hill and you will be welcomed by a wonderful team. Regarding the rooms, we started our stay with the Tiny room!!!! Wouaaaa a magical experience: sleeping inside while having your head in the stars. Our second night in the Peace room was more upscale in terms of comfort and just as charming. What makes this place unique in addition to these particularly bucolic dwellings is linked to the personal. First Anita and Ernest the two creators of this place will share their experience and the origins of this project which is very secret. After a day spent here you understand that the life of the lodge makes it possible to finance the education of the children of the surroundings, to meet the long-term needs of the surrounding families by offering them not only jobs but also cow breeding projects in which they can invest and find their independence. Then and not to forget! The rest of the staff. Will guide you according to your desires to discover the locals, the most beautiful safaris and all that while singing a music that will stay in your head until the return "jumbo!" »

Everything was amazing Beautiful treetop scenery and so quiet A rain shower overlooking the forest Lovely food and wine Friendly staff that made sure we had everything we need, including informing us that the hot water would take some time as they use solar panels Lots of female staff were working to enhance the lodge - just lovely to observe their keen, hardworking nature and they were always at hand! Czech RepublicThe room we had was quite small. The road to the lodge is not well maintained, so it takes almost 30 minutes time to reach the resort in 4WD car. No place offered for the driver, so we lost some time each day as the driver had to go always back and forth to and from the city. The appetizers were weird and not tasty (e.g. avocado + tomato + half hard bolied egg + sour red berry sauce really is not good combination), meat was chewy.
Overall, the resort is nicely build, it has nice vibe, we liked the wooden pathway connecting the places. Fireplace has nice atmosphere, overall design is great. Very good tilapia fish for food. We loved hot bottle delivered for the night to keep us warm (otherwise it would be cold in the room). Good in-built charger.

AustraliaIt was tough to get hot water. I know they want to be efficient and use solar power, but on a cold day it was hard to try and comfortably shower in cold water! I like my hot showers. Also, boxed lunches for our day trips were disappointing! They cobbled together left-overs from the night before and for us vegetarians who are not egg lovers either, as they put in one boiled egg in the boxed lunch, left us with carb based lunch.
VIews from the tented room, size of the rooms, pleasant furnishings, dinners were great too. They offered hot water bottles for the beds as the rooms got cold in the evening. I also liked sitting around the fire pit particularly in the evenings as the sun went down and it got colder.

FranceNo wifi from the rooms. Too bad the drinks are not included for that price. Like all other accommodation in the region with a minimum of standard, it is far too expensive. It was very good overall, but it does not deserve such a price.
Very nice location in contact with nature, trees, flowers... Clean and comfy bedroom, however it was not arranged as in the photos and we had to move the furniture ourselves so that the bed faced the window/terrace. Very good point for the hot water bag placed at the foot of the bed in the evening. The food (dinner, breakfast and lunchbox) was good but not exceptional.
