We had a really nice stay and all in all it was really nice. The stuff was extremely helpful and even if we arrived before they prepared a room in a really short time and even gave us an upgrade. I totally recommend this hotel for a stay in stowntown!

As I mentioned above - you should take care of the bathroom stuff or renew them so that it will be possible to shower properly. (I will attach photos so that you understand what I mean).

The hotel is situated in the very centre of Stone Town, you wouldn‘t wish for a better location. It is not directly on the beach but both walking to the beach and to numerous restaurants and cafes is just matter of couple of minutes. The hotel itself is in oriental style that gives it some special charm. The restaurant is on the roof which is not so high but the views make you feel like in the 18th century, which we found interesting. The staff is very friendly but they do not always address to the mentioned problems. One can feel a bit of lack of professionalism in the sphere but because they are all nice young people, it is not a big problem, one can always improve themselves:) The breakfast was good, not very different from the breakfast in other hotels on the island. As usual you get fruit and then can choose from salty and sweet options of breakfast. The room was very small but in fact there was enough space for our stuff and clothes, and you have everything you usually need in hotels, the bed was big and good but it takes most of the space in the room, so do not expect moving around much in the room because there is not much room:)) The bathroom was not small and I would call it comfortable what refers to the facilities, but we could not get hot water even though we turned the switch on and waited for a really long time, so we had to shower with cold water every day and though we told the staff about it, it was not fixed (either not possible or forgotten). The shower heads (both the big and the small ones) were very old and even rusty, the small hand shower was not functioning at all, so we had to use the big one and make our hair wet even when we did not want it. The shower switch remained in my hand the very first time I tried to turn it on, and I barely touched it.

The room was small and extremely humid, and the air conditioning was not functioning properly. The staff tried to fix the problem, but we were told that the technician would pass by the day of our departure... We finally left with our clothes wet or extremely humid (at best), also because hanging them on the terrace of the top floor (a nice-to-have, indeed) didn't help.

Excellent location to walk around and explore Stone Town. We appreciated the comfortable beds, the small fridge and the satisfying breakfast (salty options were limited, tough). Staff in general was kind, provided information also ahead of our arrival and was always there to help.

The rooms are a little worn down and could use a renovation, and there was a little mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. No view from the window, there is a wall on the other side.

The breakfast is not bad but we expected bigger portions. Τhere is additional significant charge when paying by credit card.

The hotel is in a quite central part of town close to nice restaurants and cafes. The air conditioning works very well and this is useful as it is usually very hot. All areas are very clean.

Al Minar situated good and it was clean. Personnel was very good and helpful. Our first floor room was good but small, We knew that it is small. Bathroom was ok. The breakfast was good, fruits in buffet was nice. Service was also very good. Security guy was on the main door . Check in and out ok.

The smell of the hotel once you enter is a bit weird.... i think it comes from the lack of the sun and vantilation. The hotel is a bit old. The value for money is a bit overrated (but i guess this is the trend now all over Zanzibar)

The location of the hotel is close to the town and the beach. Although you have to pass by walking between very old buildings (around 2 min walk) it was part of the adventure. The breakfast had variety of options and was good. Staff were friendly. Hot shower and Ac were available and functioning properly.
