Location up on 5th floor is great exercise, but was even noisier than expected, bring ear plugs for all night clubbing bass etc - you'll also be deafened if it rains, as the roof is corrugated / not solid

The room was dirty and smelly. bed sheets were old and overused. beds were broken and noisy. there was no soap or shampoo in the shower. locker was too small.

The owner is welcoming and supportive. the breakfast is exceptional.

There was no bathroom on floor, you've to go up flight of stairs. Also, there was no ladder or side rail to bunk bed. Also, property was a bit hard to find as name on façade was almost hidden in dirt.

Check in process was smooth, though I did late check in. I was provided towel and wifi straightaway. Filtered drinking water was available.

The staff are lovely and helpful. I met lots of cool travellers here and made friends for life. There is also safe and secure storage in the back for storing bicycles which was important for me.

Water pressure was very poor at the upper floors so the toilet would barely flush, also the tap was leaking a bit. The AC unit could only be set to blow the air directly at the bed or turned off completely. Wi-fi reception was poor on the top floor. The room was loud from the noise outside but I was expecting it in such location.

A good location, close to a public transport hub and with lots of restaurants and nightlife nearby. The terrace didn't have a spectacular view but was a nice addition. The staff was helpful, we had no problems with checking in or out at night. The place is kept clean and generally well-maintained even though the facilities are not very modern. Breakfasts were excellent!

First time we stayed in a twin room it was very nice. This time in the 9 bed dorm. The only bad thing is I think there were bed bugs in my bottom bunk bed. I was bitten on my neck and hands and legs and face, all over basically

We stayed in the double room with the terrace. The terrace was great to sit out on, however, it was a bit dirty and could do with some cleaning! The bathrooms also got very hot as they had minimal ventilation. However, these definitely did not deter us whatsoever from the property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (and recommend it to anyone).

We had a wonderful stay at Chillout whilst we were in Istanbul. It’s in a great location, only a few minutes walk from Istiklal street. Super cheap. Friendly host, Mustafa made us coffee and omelettes every morning.

While location is good, it is a little noisy at night and can be a little bit sketchy. However DO NOT let this put you off. If it’s too loud for you can there is a pharmacy around the corner where you can buy ear plugs and the staff will ensure that you are safe. I stayed here for 6 nights and had no trouble whatsoever.

A fantastic hostel, amazing staff, incredible breakfast and would recommend it to any backpacker. Very close to Taksim square and the public transport is super close. Sapi and the team are so helpful and really good company. A real gem in Istanbul for travellers.

The rooms are very simple and have mold smell. The neighbourhood can be quite noisy on weekend nights. The internet connection is very unstable (not adequate for working).

Honestly it was a great experience and when you take into account the very reasonable pricing it is difficult to write anything negative about it.

The breakfast is fantastic and sets you up for the day! Excellent family run hostel with great community vibes. The location is absolutely amazing (right in the middle of Taksim) but of course with this comes a lot of urban noise, so be prepared for a city that really never sleeps and neither will you!
