Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesOnly allows non-refundable bookings. Ridiculous. I travel for work, something dates get shifted a bit, this has prevented by from staying at Tanoa many times. Really a poor business practice on their part.

New ZealandHouse keeping staff was amazing during my 14 days in the hotel also the breakfast to the reception team. The bar and restaurant team could have been better we felt very uncomfortable swimming in the pool while the staff members sat around one of the tables looking at us while laughing very inappropriate that was the only let down.
Very clean rooms and the facilities available was good.

AustraliaAs soon as you check out there is no option for internet which is a problem for business travels. thete should be an option to continue internet as most of flights are in the evening. I had to leave the hotel for lunch to find a restaurant that offerd internet - lost revenue. Hotel needed some love and care on the maintenance side specifically paint and rustings fixtures. Quite expensive for what is provided.

CLEAN AND THE FOOD FOR BREAKFAST WAS GOOD. GOOD STAFF BUT AT THE RECEPTION STAFF NEED TO BE MORE WELCOMES THE CUSTOMER. DROP EVERYTHING THEY DO AND FOCUS ON CUSTOMER WHEN THEY ARRIVED. THERE ARE SOME COCKROACHES RUNNING AROUND IN THE ROOM BUT THEY SMALL ONES AND ITS NOT VERY NICE TO SEE

This hotel is actually better in person than the photos I had seen. The breakfast was very good with many egg choices. We found the room to be good-sized with good air con. The pool looked wonderful but we did not use it.

United KingdomCan be quite noisy, rooms have very poor noise protection so you’ll hear everything that’s going on in the pool area. Lightning in the room was inadequate - only ceiling lights, which made reading in bed quite unrelaxing. Room had no booklet with the usual hotel instructions. Breakfast was quite basic.
Good location. Wifi worked well. Shower was great - water temperature and pressure were very satisfying.

We loved the location by the sea and a short walk from the CBD. We liked the open layout of the public spaces allowing fresh air to circulate, the pool, the breakfast and the friendly staff. ….we were known by name !!!Cleanliness was important..Staff were always cleaning and keeping everything tidy.

New ZealandThe garden view with balcony room in the description turned out to be a view of the neighbouring house backyard and full of barking and fighting dogs through the night. The aircon unit of the room next door sits on our balcony and whirred loudly off and on all night too. The bed sheet didn’t fit the mattress properly and bunched up. The gift shop was not stocked well… it would’ve been cool to see more local jewellery, artwork and prints of the work we saw around the hotel. To have them unframed and ready to travel in a tube to avoid crushing would’ve also been awesome.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The food was nice but very European… no traditional Tongan food on offer. The pool was lovely to hang out by while we waited for our late flight back home. We loved seeing all the vegetables and herbs growing all around the grounds for the restaurant. Our room was nice and clean. We loved the local art work and murals on the walls.
