Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaProbably the food choices could be improved in quality. Although breakfast was very good
The staff like all Timorese were extremely friendly and attentive. Every time I needed assistance they remembered my name and were very polite. I even lost my camera and they helped to find it

AustraliaThe hotel Timor is an all round good place to stay for visitors. It is comfortable, has pleasant sitting and dining areas, and rooms. It is close to everything in downtown Dili and easy walking to the Museum, waterfront and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The gift shop and Telekom shops are in the building.

CambodiaHotel Timor is a great hotel to base yourself when visiting Dili. It is close to the Tais Market and close to the beach. Whilst the closest beach is probably not the best for swimming, others can be found a short drive away.

DenmarkThe staff at the breakfast bar is not very friendly. They take a lot of time to collect used plates, and when asked to collect them they do it reluctantly. When ordering a paid coffee in the morning it took a while to put it in the bedroom bill because the staff does not open taps when you order, only when you want to leave. The free internet was an absolute disaster. It should be improved. If there is a pay option, please let the guests know.
The receptionist was excellent: professional, friendly and with good English (and Spanish too!)

SwitzerlandThe facilities could be renovated for improved comfort, however, it is understandable the hotel may be doing the best it can for its context. There are no elevators, albeit this was not a problem for me, it can be an issue for others. The small bottle of water at 2USD was somethow too expensive either. Restaurant serving portuguese food with ability and quality.
Very well located place to stay for work in Dili, Timor Leste. The hotel is somehow the epicentre of international work visitors. Recommended for work trips.

PakistanInformation about the town and the island is in short supply and the hotel does not fill this gap in any way. staff struggle with English but could be more helpful. Meals, apart from breakfast are not good as we found in the town and more expensive. Rooms do not have the same standard of noise isulation as the lobby. Occasional, nearby public music events can mean sleep is unlikely until they close. Stairs are quite challenging.
Nice lobby and swimming pool area. The bedroom is a generous size and well furnished. Top location,. Breakfast buffet was fine. Beer and wine are fairly priced.

United KingdomRestaurante prices were a litre too high for what they offer. If you don’t stay at the hotel they don’t give you the Wi-Fi password.
We stayed here after our journey to Atauro island. The room was big and in good condition although the Wi-Fi didn’t work in any part of the hotel, which was the main reason we booked here. Main desk were friendly and tried to help as much as they could. Restaurant staff were less friendly and more straight face, could improve a little bit more.

AustraliaNeither ATM in the hotel lobby worked, even after the receptionist told me that it would accept the same card for which I paid for my stay. No map of places of interest in the area (e.g. Area Branch Beach, churches, resistance Museum) or how to catch a ferry. The second time I stayed (unlike the first) there there was no booklet about the hotel's facilities.
