Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spacious suite, water dispenser with cold and very hot drinking water, lovely gardens and nice pool. It was located very close to Maluk Timor which we were visiting. Close to airport (5 minute drive) but that did mean it was the other end of town to much of the other stuff such as the excellent Timorese Resistance Museum

AustraliaMy room was close to the entrance gate & there were times when loud motorbikes seemed to be sitting outside gate for extended times.
It is a very nice property with really well maintained gardens. The pool is well looked after and great for a cool off. The breakfast was basic but good. It was a bonus to have some washing included with room rate.

AustraliaThe staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were collected from the airport and I felt very safe as a solo traveler with small children. We spent hours at the pool - what a spot! So beautiful and private. We enjoyed a delicious lunch delivered by very friendly staff. Breakfast was also so fresh and the staff made sure it was available until we arrived from the airport. I would recommended and would happily stay there again.

AustraliaThe restaurant could not provide most of the items on the menu. The bathroom had a water leak and the water cooler kept on failing. More information could be provided at reception, e.g maps, microlet routes, etc.
The receptionist was extremely helpful and the apartments were nice and spacious.

AustraliaThe breakfast is geared to a portugese appetite (eg lots of white bread!). It would be good to provide more diversity with low gluten cereals, eggs, wholemeal bread and more diversity of fruit.
Malinamoc is a beautiful quiet place with lovely garden and polite staff. The apartments are generous in size and very comfortable. All mod cons that work!

Australiathe hotel seems to be surrounded by karaoke parlours and the obsession is such that they karaoke from midnight to 7 pm non-stop, quite loudly! So not the right place for a good sleep. And the hotel knows about this but they don’t really do anything about it. The first night we needed pool towels and we were told that nobody had the key for the cupboard where they were. The following day we needed to catch the boat to Atauro at 7:30, we were told breakfast opened at 7 and when I showed up at 7 the breakfast guy (who by the way is the only not friendly person in the hotel) refused to open because he was late setting up. I had also arrange a pick up with their driver the guy never showed up. So had to go out in the street and negotiate a minibus with passengers and all to make it to the government palace on time. Apartment 13 also has issues with the hot water in the shower. You need to leave the water running for a bit before it gets warm. The other problem is that the hotel is far away from anything and transportation in Timor is a struggle. Another issue was the ability to communicate with the hotel staff. I was able to with my Spanish and French but their English level was not great. After visiting other hotels in Dili I would probably recommend Hotel Timor.
The positives: nice pool, pretty gardens and the staff is friendly (like across Timor Leste)
