Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Location in a nice area just off main road. Relatively quick walk to the beach and boats to Ngor Island which was lovely. Staff helpful and friendly. Wifi was excellent.

AustraliaThe shower wouldn’t drain (and for some reason there is no other drain hole in shower/toilet so often the bathroom would be flooded and water creep into the bedroom and have to contain it somehow.
VERY COMFORTABLE DOUBLE Bed & Pilows, cold aircon, spacious rooms with lounge & fridge, English/French speaking receptionist with many good reccomendations for what to see and do in Dakar, good restaraunts around the hotel and the beach 15min walk, microwave and kitchen that you can use to reheat food, The owner has many local connections also, so that helped us to book tours etc. Would def stay again.

United StatesThe location is a little far from the main road and it’s difficult for Taxis to find the location some times. The towels provided are not the best, very hard and rough. We had to get our own towels.
The staff is very friendly and treat you like family. They really took good care of us and made sure we were okay. The A/C and hot water were amazing!

Kenya-On my first night, the room I was given had just been vacated and had a strong smell of cigarettes. I asked them to clean it and open up the windows for a while which they did but the pillows and duvet were not clean and still had a strong smell of perfume/BO. It was late at this point and the staff had left so I was forced to sleep without the pillows and duvet (thankfully it wasn't cold). The next day I was moved to a different room and my stay was pleasant from then on. -The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint as they are not quite as per the pictures -A nice piece of artwork to liven up the rooms would be great!
-Very nice and friendly staff who went out of their way to assist whenever they could. Especially the lady who works in the morning. We don't speak French well and she was very patient while we used Translate to help us get around and direct drivers to the property. -Great conversations with the hotel manager over drinks in the evening -The rooms are very spacious and clean for the most part (see below about my one bad experience). -Great WiFi.

The hotel manager Pape was helpful and accommodating. My cousin and I traveled between Senegal & Gambia and Pape helped guide us with restaurants recommendations, the local cost for taxis and more. He even communicated with us when we were making arrangement to return to Dakar from Banjul. He arranged a taxi driver to pick me up from the airport after midnight. Waited for me at the hotel to check in. I felt safe and comfortable at the hotel thanks to Pape. We were in constant communication via text/WhatsApp. He allowed me to check out late as my flight back home was at 10 on ish. .

Breakfast was poor Double room were actually two single beds next to eachother We came in rains season and the taxi could not reach the hotel, we had to walk with our suitcases over mud to reach the entrance

The hotel is in good location in a quiet neighborhood in Ngor area. Big room, clean, and the huge bathroom is a plus. Accepted a credit card for payment.

United KingdomThe airport taxi never came as promised and that threw off my arrival time. Their POS machine didn't work as my mode of payment so i had to go to a bunch of cash points to withdraw.
It's right in the center of the Dakar and not far from the beaches. The rooms are always cleaned on time and the staff were very helpful and accommodating even until very late in the night.
