Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThere were some issues with wifi. One of the members of our group had limited roaming and it really made it hard for her to not have good wifi while on property. It wasn't clear if the issue was the router/signal on the property. That was our only complaint.
We enjoyed the pool area, the ease of getting a taxi, the cocktail specials and our rooms. The art was especially pretty.

What an oasis inside the crazy city of dakar, you enter the main gate and you think youre in the middle of rain forest. The pool area with the resturant is seperate from the rooms area, so you dont here noises. Food is great ( little expensive in Senegal).

South AfricaI would have loved a comfortable couch in my room. Breakfast service could be better (with flexibility and choices), especially for a business person who is not on vacation.
An oasis in the middle of a bustling city of Dakar, just what the doctor ordered. I would have loved to stay here for a weekend. The service from security to reception is excellent. Thank you to the lady at reception; Clementine for guidance with taxis (and how to use to YANGO) and restaurant logistics.

United KingdomI wasn't allowed to have my son in the pool after 12pm which I think it is a silly rule especially because I was the only person in the pool the 3 days I was there. To reach the hotel you have to go up 10 steps and then down another 10 which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have a buggy. The club was next to the restaurant/bar which was forbidding us to stay till late for drinks as the loud music was waking up our son.
The staff were amazing. I truly can't fault any of them, from the gardener to the guys at the restaurant they were all very polite and friendly. The room was very nice and generally the ambience of the hotel is calm and relaxing.

United KingdomOnly thing i didn't like was someone had left the windows open when we arrived so we had lots of mosquitos in the room, but I'm not sure you can hold this against the hotel as it could've been a previous guest and i didn't notice what happened, my friend did. Saying that, there are mosquito nets so once in bed you're fine. Also apparently there wasn't a malaria risk luckily. Apart from this minor blip.. Can't think of anything I didn't like.
Loved the location, partially because I've been around this area before and I like it. Not too far into the centre, near Ngor beach /island, and less busy than the centre. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating which was especially important as I'd gotten sick earlier on our trip and struggled with eating so always had special requests.. Food is very nice btw. Loved the restaurant setting too. I'm big on interiors so as shallow as it may sound I was very happy with my surroundings. Room was nice, super comfy bed, mosquito nets and nets on the windows. Oh and they have their own mosquito repellent which worked better than ours. Loved the shower too.

NetherlandsThey charge you for the coffee in the room which is ridiculous for a hotel at this price point.
Nice hotel, good pool (no children allowed, so it is peaceful). Staff are helpful and speak English. Rooms are all individual little cottages so you don't share a wall.

United KingdomEverything was perfect. Nothing to complain about!!!
We stayed in bungalow 3 with a private pool and it was an absolute DREAM. The pool was bigger than what we expected and we loved it. Staff was friendly, extremely helpful and just very customer focused. The ambiance, attention to detail, decor, privacy, cleanliness and landscape surpassed our expectations 10/10. The breakfast was exceptional. BOMA has a vibe like no other. Definitely coming back 2024.

United KingdomWish the shower area was more spacious, but overall I think that was the only thing I found at fault. Also a bit pricey, in my opinion breakfast should have been included in that rate.
The room was beautiful, with really nice personal touches, a personalised welcome note that was so cute. We had our little private terrace as well. The girl at reception that checked us in was lovely, shame I can’t recall her name. There was also a nice swimming pool. We didn’t try the service at the restaurant so I can’t rate.

My favorite part of Boma was the Restuarant. The Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was delectable, great presentation and the environment is so serene. This place is so worthy of the praise and in a nice part of the city. The Staff are really friendly and helpful. This facility has everything you would need - Gym, Club, Bar you name it. It's just the best!
