Wow! What an amazing stay. The Castle is truly amazing and the staff made the stay that much better. We couldn't fault our stay. Thanks Tom for a lovely and accommodating stay. The beds were comfy and the breakfast and dinner were delicious (have the lamb!!)

Unfortunately the evening meal in the restaurant wasn’t great. Limited menu, as only a few guests. It was cooked to order but seemed like frozen food reheated. We would have preferred that they recommended a local restaurant. Breakfast was very generous though. And it was nice to be able to sample different wines.

The property has been renovated to a high standard. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious. It is beautiful setting with great views all around. Breakfast was varied and generous. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Deluxe Suite (with jacuzzi) was too hot even with the AC going full blast. I would not book that room again if temperatures are in the 30s C.

It was an extremely unique place to stay, we loved it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There is a river for swimming at the bottom of the hill. Breakfast was fantastic as well.

The breakfast was fabulous. The dining room is so nice with the view of the river. The food was wonderful and there was way more than we could all eat. My grandparents owned the castle and it was in the family until the recent sale and renovation. It was amazing to be in the castle and the small village of Vinica. I would love to return some day.

Me and my dog had the whole castle to ourselves. A bit spooky during full moon but mostly peaceful and simply perfect. The surroundings are tranquil and pretty with large windows overlooking the river. The castle is five minutes from the Croatian border and another five minutes to a surprisingly good pizza place. I loved every single minute I stayed in Vinica (especially the bath in the wooden bathtub- simply divine)

it was a shame that the air conditioning machine broke down in the room we had booked at the castle. It was very beautiful, a little warm without the aircon. The bed overlooked a complete wall of glass, straight down to the river and the woods. Absolutely stunning.The manager was brilliant though, and he put us straight into the Tower rooms with no hesitation. Of course all machines break down at some point! We could have quite happily stayed for another few nights!

The location is very good. It's only a mile from the border with Croatia, How easy is that. There is a garage just in front of Vinica Castle, so very easy to buy a vignette if you don't have one already. Vinica a lovely old restored castle. We stayed in the tower rooms, the bathroom was amazing. A wooden bath, with an array of bubble bath and salts, and a wooden sink, we have never seen anything like it. A lovely set of old beams into the eaves. A large and very comfortable bed. A huge TV in the sitting room, with a Chesterfield three piece leather suite. Drinks from the fridge available. A great breakfast as well the next morning, served by a lovely lady who kindly made us scrambled eggs for breakfast. An assortment of jams, honey, and slices of cheeses and meats available, plus a lovely array of muesli. Fresh coffee. Marvelous.

Everything was truly perfect!

What an amazing place! Super quality hotel with high quality wooden furniture and finishing. Even the bath tub and sink were made of wood. The beds were super comfortable. The castle was amazing with the medieval feel in a modern upgrade without losing the character of the place. Staff were very helpful and accomodating to all our requests. The view of the castle is amazing and is located in the border with Croatia. The location is ideal if you want to explore parts of croatia and slovenia at the same time. The breakfast was nicely prepared as well. We will surely return to this place! Highly recommended!

We spend a marvelous weekend in the castle. The place has a middle ages ambient with a royal touch, modern twist and at the same time you also feel the appreciation of the nature. Host is also welcoming and they will advise what is worth visiting in this region.

Stunning view of the River Kolpa from bed through a huge window. Beautiful room mostly made from wood - even the bath. Helpful staff gave us a safe place to lock our bikes.

The toiletries were a bit limited, toothpaste was missing, so be sure to bring your own. And the bed could use an extra pair of pillows.

Breakfast was great, the room was very spacious and clean, the bed was super comfortable. The view from the room was great.
